This most recent string of issues follows a massive outage spanning several hours on Friday night and into Saturday morning. Some players were unable to start Cloud Gaming sessions, launch digital games, make purchases, or even access streaming apps including Netflix and Disney Plus. Although Xbox seemed to resolve these problems, it looks like issues with its store, digital titles, and Cloud Gaming have started to resurface. As my colleague Tom Warren notes, if you’re affected by the outage, you should still be able to play games offline when you have your Xbox set as your “home” console. Xbox Support...

The study, which was published on Monday in the journal JAMA Pediatrics, used a special type of MRI called diffusion tensor imaging to scan white matter in the 47 participants’ brains, and made several alarming finds — particularly relating to the development of language, literacy and cognitive skills. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that kids have limited screen use due to the possible cognitive behavioral risks, including language delay, poor sleep and impaired executive function, according to the study. The study was conducted from August 2017 to November 2018 on participants recruited at a U.S. children’s hospital, and took...

Microsoft will ban 'offensive language' and 'inappropriate content' from Skype, Xbox, Office and other services on May 1, claiming it has the right to go through your private data to 'investigate.' Better watch out if you are playing Xbox, get ticked, and cuss. Microsoft might ban you for the “offensive language.” If they do, then say bye-bye to your Xbox Gold Membership and any Microsoft account balances.Or if you and a significant other are getting hot and heavy via Skype, you better watch your language and any nudity because that, too, can get you banned. The ban hammer could also...

Microsoft claims that Scorpio will rock 6 teraflops of computational power and 320 GB/s of memory bandwidth, Microsoft is aiming for uncompromising 4K UHD resolution gaming with Project Scorpio. The current Xbox One has a peak throughput of only 1.3 teraflops with a theoretical maximum of 200 GB/s of memory bandwidth, making Scorpio potentially over 4.5 times more powerful than the Xbox One. ... Unlike previous console upgrades, Project Scorpio will be fully backwards and forwards compatible with the Xbox One, including accessories, all games, and Xbox 360 backward compatibility. Besides VR experiences, Microsoft confirmed to me at E3 2016...

If there are any fellow Gamer Freepers out there and are interested please get ahold of me. I already have an Xbox Live account set up and can give you my ID. Will also be...

It feels like Microsoft has been dangling the "Windows will come to Xbox" carrot for the longest time, but now it appears the company isn't too far away from actually delivering. Speaking with Business Insider at GDC 2016, Xbox product manager Jason Ronald revealed that the company will begin opening its PC and gaming ecosystems to over the course of the year, with Windows 10 apps coming to the Xbox One in the summer. There was a glitch that wouldn't let anyone post a response the last time I did this, so I'm going to try it again. TheRobb7 My son and I were interested in watching the Xbox play the NFL season against itself in Franchise Mode. We would watch 1 game a week and simulate the rest. PROBLEM : we can't get the Xbox to do it. It will only play against itself in Exhibition Mode, which means that we couldn't compile stats and standings. Does anyone out there know of a work-around?

A little over three months ago, National Review endorsed Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) for Speaker of the House. In doing so, National Review helped place a man with a two-decade history of pushing open borders immigration policies in charge of the Republican Party’s entire legislative agenda. Ten weeks after that endorsement helped Paul Ryan secure the Speakership, Ryan proceeded to swiftly pass an omnibus spending bill that funded and expanded President Obama’s immigration agenda.

LizardSquad copycats are trying to ruin Christmas for gamers Last year, the LizardSquad hacking group managed to ink its name into the history of Internet after taking down the Xbox Live and PlayStation networks during Christmas. With this year's holiday just around the corner, a new group, unoriginally named Phantom Squad, is now threatening to carry out similar attacks as well. If we believe their Twitter timeline, the hackers seem to have launched a DDoS attack against Reddit yesterday, even if nobody noticed its effects. Of course, a behemoth like Reddit is hard to take down in its entirety, but...

[VIDEO AT THE LINK Provided below] What do you do when your child comes home with bad grades? Do you cuddle him (or her)? Or do you get angry and tell them they should do better? Or do you go further than that? Do you punish him by, say, not giving him pocket money or by grounding him for a few days? One father decided to take it a bit further than that. When his son told him he failed his class, he gave his son a sledgehammer, threw his most prized possession (Xbox) in the garden and forced him...
