Bricks were thrown through the windows of the Albemarle County GOP headquarters overnight in what appears to be the Charlottesville area’s latest act of politically fueled vandalism. County GOP Chairwoman Rachel Schoenewald arrived at the office in the Albemarle Square shopping center Friday morning to find three windows shattered. “Hopefully, everyone will conduct themselves as community members and that this violence does not escalate or continue,” she said.

After Democratic lawmakers were targeted by death threats and vandalism, House Democrats met with members of the Capitol Police today to discuss security concerns. Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Majority Whip James Clyburn held a press conference this afternoon on Capitol Hill, saying members had raised concerns and that Capitol Police told them to address any suspicious activity around the Capitol. "Any member who feels themselves at risk is getting attention from the proper authorities," Hoyer said. At least 10 Democratic lawmakers have complained of threats or other security concerns.

NIAGARA FALLS — The window broken Friday at the Niagara Falls office of Rep. Louise M. Slaughter, D-Fairport, was one of at least four cases of vandalism targeting Democratic offices across the country late last week during the debate over health care reform.

(CNN) -- Democratic offices in at least three states have reported instances of vandalism that party members say possibly were tied to Sunday's historic vote on health care reform. Early Monday morning, a glass panel at the Tucson office of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona, was shattered, spokesman C.J. Karamargin said. It wasn't clear how the window was shattered, but visitors have to go through a gated courtyard to enter the office, and staffers suspect someone may have shot a pellet gun at the glass, he said. PHOENIX (AP) -- Authorities say the Tucson, Ariz., congressional office of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was vandalized a few hours after the House vote overhauling the nation's health care system. Someone either kicked or shot out a glass door and side window of the office early Monday, but it did not appear that anyone entered the office. Authorities are looking into whether a pellet gun was used.

The Rochester Police Department is investigating a case of vandalism at the Monroe County Democratic Committee headquarters on University Avenue. A Democratic spokesman tells YNN something smashed into the office's front door sometime between 3:30pm Saturday afternoon and noon on Sunday. No one was in the building at the time and no one was injured. The committee filed a police report Sunday evening. Police are not sure what caused the glass doors to shatter. There was a similar attack at Democratic Representative Louise Slaughter's office in Niagara Falls on Friday.
