When Australian rugby star Israel Folau’s team contract was terminated after he voiced the principles of his Christian faith, he turned to GoFundMe Australia to crowdsource funds for his legal action against Rugby Australia. Three days later, the popular fundraising platform took down his page with plans to refund all donors. “As a company, we are absolutely committed to the fight for equality for LGBTIQ+ people and fostering an environment of inclusivity,” GoFundMe Australia manager Nicola Britton said, according to The Guardian. After his fundraising page was shut down, a “non-party partisan, non-denominational” group called Australian Christian Lobby reached out...

Australian wallabies are eating opium poppies and creating crop circles as they hop around "as high as a kite", a government official has said.Lara Giddings, the attorney general for the island state of Tasmania, said the kangaroo-like marsupials were getting into poppy fields grown for medicine. She was reporting to a parliamentary hearing on security for poppy crops. Australia supplies about 50% of the world's legally-grown opium used to make morphine and other painkillers. "The one interesting bit that I found recently in one of my briefs on the poppy industry was that we have a problem with wallabies entering...

Stoned wallabies causing crop circles Tasmanian wallabies are getting stoned on the state's opium poppy crops and creating crop circles. Things are really hopping in Tasmania where wallabies are getting stoned on the state's opium poppy crops and creating crop circles. The wallabies are breaking into the poppy fields and making the circles while they're high. Rick Rockliff from Tasmanian Alkaloids says wildlife and livestock which eat the poppies are known to act weird, and he's told the Hobart Mercury there's been many stories about sheep eating the poppies and then walking around in circles. Tasmania is the world's largest...

A MOB of wallabies has grounded RAAF fighter-bomber jets after dark at a Northern Territory airfield. And medical rescue planes have been moved to another airstrip after being unable to take off at night. The Northern Territory News understands the problem started when a fence was built around the military-controlled Tindal airport at Katherine. The fence was designed to keep the agile wallabies out - but actually fenced many of them in. The Department of Defence failed to respond to several requests for comment yesterday. But the Health Department confirmed its aero-medical aircraft had been moved from Tindal to Darwin....

FALCON -Two female wallabies have been located in a pickup bound from Texas to Mexico. Customs officials say the wallabies, which are native to Australia and protected by the Endangered Species Act, were discovered Monday at the remote Falcon Dam International Bridge. Each of the animals is believed to be about one year old. So far no arrests. The smuggling investigation continues. Customs spokesman Rick Pauza says the wallabies -- which are about 30 inches tall -- are worth about $1,400 apiece. The animals have been turned over to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
