FALCON

-Two female wallabies have been located in a pickup bound from Texas to Mexico.

Customs officials say the wallabies, which are native to Australia and protected by the Endangered Species Act, were discovered Monday at the remote Falcon Dam International Bridge.

Each of the animals is believed to be about one year old. So far no arrests. The smuggling investigation continues.

Customs spokesman Rick Pauza says the wallabies -- which are about 30 inches tall -- are worth about $1,400 apiece.

The animals have been turned over to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Were these, in fact, stolen? I know people in TX who have them and they make great pets and companions. You can get them at an exotic auction in our state on occasion, but they are expensive. They breed well in captivity and zoos have to sell them off.

This is bizarre. We need to control our political borders AND our biological borders.

Does every thread have to be about illegal immigration? These wallabies are just doing the jobs American animals don't want to do.

Watch me wallabys feed mate.

Watch me wallabys feed.

They're a dangerous breed mate.

So watch me wallabys feed.

Altogether now!

Tie me kangaroo down sport,

tie me kangaroo down.

Tie me kangaroo down sport,

tie me kangaroo down.

Keep me cockatoo cool, Curl,

keep me cockatoo cool.

Don't go acting the fool, Curl,

just keep me cockatoo cool.

Altogether now!

Take me koala back, Jack,

take me koala back.

He lives somewhere out on the track, Mac,

so take me koala back.

Altogether now!

Mind me platypus duck, Bill,

mind me platypus duck.

Don't let him go running amok, Bill,

mind me platypus duck.

Altogether now!

Play your digeridoo, Blue,

play your digeridoo.

Keep playing 'til I shoot thro' Blue,

play your digerydoo.

Altogether now!

Tan me hide when I'm dead, Fred,

tan me hide when I'm dead.

So we tanned his hide when he died Clyde,

(Spoken) And that's it hanging on the shed.

Altogether now!

OMG! They're not MINE! About a year ago, some friends on another forum and I had a long drawn out war with some usurping flamers, where we hired some murdering 'Strine wallabies to fight our fights for us.

This was our ongoing theme song, in excerpts. We also had a gang of chooks, little 'Strine chickens with fighting ninja-star spurs on their little chook heels. They could spin around and do a Chuck ("Chook") Norris move in a flash.

The wallabies (kanga "wannabies") were the brains of the organization. And, in fact, a great deal of the action took place in west Texas, NM and AZ. They made a run for the border when the heat was on.

I swear, it was all made up!

I'll ask him later on, he's playing tennis now.

I know he was very offended about a stuffed kangaroo once!;^)

I recall another verse from when we used to sing it in grade school - perhaps it's not PC any more...

Let me Abos go loose, Bruce,
Let me Abos go loose.
They're of no further use, Bruce,
So let me Abos go loose.
