(New York-AP) -- A little-known Republican state assemblyman is making his first, albeit unusual, campaign promise in his pledge to unseat Senator Charles Schumer. Assemblyman Howard Mills vowed to plant 25 trees to replace the paper Schumer uses for his press releases. Mills accused Schumer of killing 25 trees to issue 765 announcements, many issued on Sunday, a traditionally slow news day.
