The ex-Virginia Tech soccer player who was penalized over her refusal to kneel during a 2020 Black Lives Matter protest will reportedly be awarded a $100,000 settlement. What's the background? Kiersten Hening claimed that she had lost her starting position on Virginia Tech's Hokies women's soccer team after she elected not to take part in a so-called pre-game unity ceremony on Sept. 12, 2020, in support of the scandal-plagued BLM movement. She indicated that her refusal was met by a "campaign of abuse and retaliation" launched by Hokies coach Charles "Chugger" Adair. Hening had been a midfielder/defender for the team...

There are approximately 37,000 students enrolled at Virginia Tech.

Joy Ann Reid‘s old, supposedly hacked blog that was first reported on by Mediaite is apparently the gift that keeps on giving, as BuzzFeed News dug-up an old post today in which the MSNBC host likened Senator John McCain to a mass shooter. The October 2007 post, which was published on the now-defunct Reid Report, is titled “Baghdad John Strikes Again” and features a picture of Virginia Tech shooter Seung-Hui Cho but with the head of McCain squarely edited on top of his. “Republican presidential candidate John McCain told workers of small weapons factory that he not only wants to...

A Medieval Studies professor called the National Rifle Association a “terrorist organization” hours after the Santa Fe, Texas school shooting that killed 10 people Friday. “The NRA is a terrorist organization,” tweeted Matthew Gabriele, a tenured professor at Virginia Tech University. Tracy Vosburgh, a Virginia Tech spokesperson, told Fox News the anti-NRA tweet doesn’t represent the university. “Mr. Gabriele’s views are his and his alone,” Vosburgh said. “Any comment on his statement should come from him.” Gabriele declined to comment when reached, but he described himself in a tweetstorm as “a white dude with tenure who doesn’t give a s***”...

Arizona -(Ammoland.com)- 19-year-old student, Yonsong Zhao, came to the United States from China on a student visa. As of January, 2018, he had been in the country for seven months. As with many people, especially young men, he likes guns. In China, it is nearly impossible to access legal guns. Zhao set about learning what was necessary for him to acquire and legally fire guns in the United States. Given the complexity involved, I am amazed that Zhao appears to have found the various rules, and followed them rigorously. It is well that he did. The authorities were watching him...

“[Yunsong] Zhao was arrested because he allegedly attached a 30-round magazine to a rifle,” richmond.com reports. “He was allowed to own both the gun and magazine, but when they were combined, the rifle qualified as an assault weapon prohibited to people with Zhao’s visa status.” Yes, you read that right . . . You can have as many 30-round rifle, handgun or shotgun ammunition magazines as you like in Virginia — as long as you don’t pop one into a gun. Zhao’s defense attorney isn’t challenging the box of rocks stupid mag law. As Jason Wolfrey asked the court...
