BARNSTABLE, Mass. (WPRI) ─ An unexpected visitor at a Massachusetts wildlife hospital Wednesday gave the phrase “through sickness and health” a whole new meaning. The story begins with a Canada goose named Arnold. Arnold and his mate, according to Cape Wildlife Center in Barnstable, have lived on a pond near the facility for several years. But on Tuesday, staff members noticed Arnold began walking with a limp and kept falling over. After catching him and bringing him inside, the wildlife hospital discovered Arnold had two open fractures on his foot. “Our best guess is that a snapping turtle or other...

  • The Impossibility of Judging or Deposing a True Pope...If Francis is a true Pope…

Accepting the Vatican II Sect as the Catholic Church has consequences. So does believing that Jorge Bergoglio is the Vicar of Christ despite being a public apostate: If he is a valid Pope, then there is no power on earth that can undo his papacy. If he is truly the successor of St. Peter, then he can resign voluntarily, but no one can take the pontificate from him... Clearly, it is high time we looked at what the Catholic Church teaches on the (im)possibility of judging and removing a valid Pope. In this post, therefore, we will examine two things:...
  • Hillsborough County FL Sheriff Backs Off Investigating Report Of Alien Grow House In Subdivision?

I'm not going to keep quiet about this. Last November Florida residents defeated the medical marijuana bill at the polls. A Pyrhhic victory at best. On July 19 I wrote a detailed report and submitted it online at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office website. This is the Tampa area of Florida. My report documented the suspected existence of a single family detached residence rental home in our subdivision being used as a marijuana grow house by a drug gang. A tax search disclosed that the property is listed to an Oakland, California real estate management firm known as FETLAR LLC....

We've been advised that our medical coverage will be dropped at the end of the year. We've paid for our own coverage for about the last 10 years. Others out there? It'd be interesting to send a list to the a$$holes in DC describing the extent of the problem. thx

Earlier this year, I was eating at a rib joint in Fort Myers Florida. There was a country and western song playing over the restaurant's Muzak system. I can't give you any specific lyrics but I believe the song was called "Carolina" or "Oh Carolina". If nothing else, the song had the word "Carolina" in it. The song was more upbeat and fast - near as I can remember. I've checked around on the Internet (search engines and Youtube) but can't find what I'm looking for. I'd appreciate any suggestions or recommendations as to what this song may have been....
  • Narcissism and Your Family

Deeply embedded in today's culture, narcissism has crept into our children's mentality like a thief in the night, actually robbing them (and everyone around them) of much dignity and happiness. Young people spend hours every day updating their Facebook pages, post and e-mail countless pictures of themselves, and plug their ears with music to create a self-indulgent existence shut-off from everyone around them. I recently went online and viewed the page of a friend-of a-friend-of a-friend-of my daughter's on Facebook and discovered literally hundreds of pictures of the girl posing like a super model. Where are our children learning to...

  • Gingrich says Palin will not be the future GOP leader

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) is batting down the hype that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin heads into 2012 as the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination. Palin energized the Republican base after GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) tapped her as his running mate and she has tried to preserve her high public profile since Election Day. But Gingrich, an architect of the Republican revolution of 1994, took Palin down a notch, asserting that she would not become the party’s leader, as some have predicted. “I think that she is going to be a significant player,” said Gingrich...

Yes, yes, I know it's a vanity post! To those who are offended, please stop reading. For the rest of you, here it is... 1. The freeway overpasses into downtown Minneapolis were littered with Obamaniac sycophants waving large signs AND American flags! I rolled down my window and extended a middle finger several times as well as yelled out "Fu**ing Losers!". Yes, it was senseless and immature - and no, I'm not sorry. 2. I got a robo-call last night from Ashwin Madia's (aka Ashtray Madhatter's) campaign. He's a Dem running in the 3rd Congressional District. I live in the...

Please pardon the Monday morning vanity rant, but what has Barack Obama ever done to be qualified to run for president, other than being Black? He is a very junior, inexperienced Senator from Illinois. He has sponsored no significant legislation in his entire lifetime. He has very close ties, including financial ties to domestic terrorists who openly say they wish they had killed more Americans…. and he tries to hide those connections. He has close ties, including financial ties with men close to Saddam Hussein… and he tries to hide those connections. He is an admitted drug user. He writes...

She was our Maureen Dowd - intellectual, snippy, comedic, a babe. But like Maureen Dowd something happened, like fame and familiarity, which may have pushed her toward irrationality.Molly Ivins and Hillary Clinton had great respect for their conservative fathers, but somewhere along the line they developed a desire to upset everything that was called holy about traditional America , the America their fathers knew. • The Final Days Of Hillary Clinton: There is no way she can beat Obama

These are the final days of the "Hillary! for President" campaign. Every week that goes by Obama is getting stronger as Hillary is getting weaker. After tonight's route, and being swept on Tuesday, the vultures will be circling her campaign. Looking at the states that are still left, how would it be possible for Hillary to pull off a victory?

Could it be possible? You can look at any state highway department of transportation website and see what current construction is going on. What if terrorist used that and set bombs off during the busy hour on a interstate, etc..? It could be covered up because people would think it's construction. Could it be possible? Thanks.

The pictures I've seen of this ferry make it look to me like it has had the addition of three or four decks behind and above the wheelhouse. If this is in fact true, the ship would have higher windage and potentially a higher center of gravity as well. this would greatly increase the danger of capsizing in rough seas or strong winds. The apparent additions are not of the same style/design as the lower parts of the ship.

Don't you remember the utter let-down when elder Bush broke the fundamental promise he made, "No new taxes"? The promise was not merely a bow to the Laffer curve, it was an emotional and pyschological statement to the many people in this country who still believe in constitutional goverment, and who knew that taxation was the means to undermine constitutional government, liberty and freedom, to put it another way. The younger Bush promised a Thomas or Scalia for the same reasons: to tell the believers in constitutional government that supporting him would mean a definitive change in the jurisprudence of...

WILMER, Texas — A bus carrying elderly evacuees from Hurricane Rita caught fire and then was rocked by explosions early Friday on a gridlocked highway near Dallas, killing as many as 24 people, authorities said. "Deputies were unable to get everyone off the bus," Dallas County Sheriff's Department spokesman Don Peritz said. He said he believed 24 people were killed, but added that that number could change. The bus was carrying 43 people who had been traveling since Thursday from a nursing home or managed-care facility near Houston, Peritz said. Early indications were that the bus caught fire because of...
