The Women's March group is returning with a series of D.C. protests in light of President-elect Trump's win. Why it matters: The first Women's March was held the day after Trump's 2017 inauguration to protest what the participants saw as threats the administration posed to issues like civil rights and gender equality. It's considered to be the U.S.' biggest-ever single-day demonstration. And now, almost eight years later, the group is protesting another Trump presidency. State of play: The Women's March group will host a rally in D.C. Saturday at Columbus Circle in front of Union Station "to build community and...

"Earlier today, pro-Hamas protesters took down the American flags at Union Station, burned them and raised Palestinian flags. Tonight, we righted their wrong. American flags are once again flying over Union Station. We will not let the terrorist mob win," House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., tweeted, along with a video of the lawmakers saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Earlier today, pro-Hamas protesters took down the American flags...

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) is facing backlash for criticizing “pro-Hamas cheers” at a fiery anti-Israel protest only hours after expressing outrage over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that such protesters were Hamas sympathizers. In his address before a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, the Israeli leader denounced anti-Israel protesters who support the U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hamas:

Anti-Israel protestors and Hamas sympathizers who desecrated Washington, D.C.'s Union Station have learned their fates. A minimum of eight people who participated in the anti-Israel protest during Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech Wednesday are now facing federal criminal charges after defacing federal property and fighting police. Some protestors, however, have had their charges dropped by more lenient Washington, D.C. prosecutors. Frederick Coates, Crow Momamome and Antonio Somerville have all been charged with attempting to carry a dangerous weapon, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C. Nathaniel Lawrence, Sonia Krishan and Roger Miller have been charged with attempted theft....

Rep. Higgins: You’re saying no violence orchestrated by FBI sources or agents… Are you familiar with, you know what a ghost vehicle is, Director? Director of the FBI certainly should. Do you know what a ghost bus is? Chris Wray: A ghost bus? Rep. Higgins: A ghost bus. Chris Wray: I’m not sure I’ve used that term before. Rep. Higgins: Okay. It’s pretty common in law enforcement. It’s a vehicle that’s used for secret purposes. It’s painted over. These two busses in the middle here. They were the first to arrive at Union Station on January 6, 500. I have...

Union Station had as many as 100 stores more than two decades ago. It’s down to about 40 retailers and eateries while more than half its commercial space sits vacant. Calls for fire and emergency services show the range of problems at the station, including drug and alcohol intoxication, overdoses and assaults. Meanwhile, foot traffic remains well below pre-pandemic levels, with Metro and commuter rail traffic roughly halved, even as Amtrak reaches more solid footing.

Email Print Did you watch the Biden speech on Nov. 2? Not many Americans did. As time moves on, Joe Biden becomes more and more irrelevant. Wednesday night he attempted to motivate Americans to vote for Democrats for the sake of "election integrity." He implied that only Democrats have election integrity, claiming that the MAGA movement Americans are violating election integrity by questioning the 2020 election and by passing state laws that "suppress" voting. Biden in effect asked Americans to put aside the issues of today as being temporary (like inflation, the economy, illegal immigration, crime in Democrat-controlled cities, high...

President Joe Biden on Wednesday tied the attack on Paul Pelosi to former President Donald Trump and his refusal to accept defeat in the 2020 presidential election, and warned 'dark forces with a thirst for power' will threaten democracy in the midterms. ‘American democracy is under attack because the defeated former president of the United States refused to accept the results of the 2020 election,’ Biden said in a speech at Washington D.C.’s Union Station. Republicans accused him of trying to divide Americans and change the topic at a time voters give Biden low marks on how he has dealt...

President Biden delivered remarks Wednesday on democracy, political violence and the midterm elections in a televised address from Washington’s Union Station. The following is a transcript of his remarks, as recorded by The New York Times. Good evening, everyone. Just a few days ago, a little before 2:30 a.m. in the morning, a man smashed the back windows and broke into the home of the speaker of the House of Representatives, the third-highest-ranking official in America. He carried in his backpack zip ties, duct tape, rope and a hammer. As he told the police, he had come looking for Nancy...

Tucker Carlson unloaded on Democrats and their leader Joe Biden tonight on his number-one-rated cable news show. Joe Biden and Democrats have put in motion policies to purposely destroy America for generations to come. Tucker Carlson: They’re vicious, they’re intolerant, and they are utterly corrupt. And above all they are incompetent. In less than two years it is not an overstatement to say they have run this country into the ground. Wrecking our economy, desecrating our military, and opening the borders of the United States to 5 million lawbreakers. The destruction they brought is so profound it’s hard to describe....

It’s a pattern that’s almost algorithmic by now. Hateful graffiti or messages are used to deface a public place. Outrage ensues. Liberals publicly flog conservatives — especially those who support former President Donald Trump. The guilty party turns out to be someone diametrically opposed to conservative ideology. There was a bit of a deviation from the norm after the arrest of a man who allegedly sprayed swastikas on the entrance Union Station in Washington, D.C.’s, one day after Holocaust Remembrance Day. Usually, these things are the work of hoax artists. In this case, it turns out to be a Hispanic...

Our morning commutes are tough enough as it is. Heading to the daily grind can be challenging, and even though we think we’re ‘used to it,’ having the strength to pull it off day after day after day can be…well…tough. So anytime something can take our minds out of that place for even a little bit, it’s a good thing. And nothing does that like a couple of talented musicians playing for Union Station commuters as they shuffle to and fro catching trains and making their way to their respective places of employment. If you don’t get happy after watching...

In the United States, the systems are in use on New York's Roosevelt Island and in Portland, Ore., where a cable car carries commuters between a waterfront neighborhood and a university. The craggy topography of Elysian Park has long presented a challenge to transportation planners and Dodgers fans alike. But those hills are perfect for a gondola line, which could easily scale inclines that defeat buses and light-rail lines, supporters say. The gondola line, which could ferry passengers above the traffic-choked 110 Freeway, is one of several major infrastructure investments proposed in Los Angeles County that would not be built...
