Officials are searched for a transient man suspected of stabbing an Orange County sheriff’s deputy while she was conducting routine homeless outreach in San Clemente on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place around 2:15 p.m. near the 1700 block of Avenida Estacion, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The nonprofit United Way of the National Capital Area analyzed data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development on the number of people experiencing homeless and vacant housing units in 100 major cities.
