On Easter Sunday, thousands of San Franciscans flocked to Dolores Park to worship a very different type of Jesus. The Foxy Mary and Hunky Jesus contests are organized by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a non-profit composed of queer and trans nuns that celebrated their 44th anniversary this weekend. As the name suggests, the day-long event showcases the body of Christ, with a series of drag shows, plenty of crass religious puns and a costume contest featuring roughly 100 participants.
