This evening I received an email (shared below) from Davey Alba at the New York Times. Davey explained that “researchers” from two organizations with direct connections to and funding from Facebook were defaming both myself personally and Gab as a whole for spreading “misinformation.” I’ll get into the baseless and defamatory claims, but first I’d like you to tell you a little more about these two organizations. Over the course of the past week Gab has been deplatformed by one of our banks, a business we were working with to source new server hardware, third-party infrastructure analysis software, and even our accountant. Andrew Torba, CEO of Gab.com, is being interviewed by Steve Bannon. I found this tidbit of information very interesting. Torba states that Gab.com software has been developed as open source and it is available to anyone that wants to spin up their own Gab.com.Granted, there are other huge infrastructure issues in doing so. But those issues are solved off-the-shelf. You don't have to develop your own server hardware and networking equipment. Simply add money and purchase. The software component of this is the time consuming element.
