When the "Gun" question came up... OBAMA "I saw a mother, who I had met at the bedside of her son, who had been shot in that theater. And her son had been shot through the head. And we spent some time, and we said A PRAYER and, remarkably, about two months later, this young man and his mom showed up, and he looked unbelievable, good as new."

Nothing like a tough, clear answer to a simple question! Here is video of President Obama in India taking a question from a young lady who asked Obama very straightforwardly, “What is your opinion of Jihad?” Obama’s answer? “Well, the phrase Jihad has a lot of meanings within Islam, and is subject to a lot of different interpretations.” He then droned on about how Islam is a peaceful religion and the vast majority of adherents are peaceful people. He did say that violence on the part of any religion against others is not justified. This young lady asked a very...

Just seven days after he sparked controversy by omitting the word “Creator” when he closely paraphrased the passage from the Declaration of Independence that says all men “are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights,” President Barack Obama again omitted the Creator when speaking about the “inalienable rights” that “everybody is endowed with.”This time the president was speaking at a Sept. 22 fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, and his reference to “inalienable rights” was not as close a paraphrasing of the...

With nothing else working, President Barack Obama is asking religious leaders to help him sell the public on health care reform. POLITICO listened in to an Oval Office conference call Tuesday, where Obama, alongside other top administration officials, beseeched thousands of faith-based and community organizations to preach the gospel on new insurance reforms, chiefly the Patients’ Bill of Rights. “Get out there and spread the word,” Obama told leaders from across the religious spectrum on the conference call, organized by Health and Human Services Center for Faith-Based and Community Partnerships. “This is something that we’ll be able to look back...

Eh, don't worry, America. If there is another 9/11-like terror attack, The One says that we can "absorb it" and just become "stronger" because of it. It's as if he wants it to happen, or something! In his latest book, Bob Woodward encountered a President Obama that seemed to casually blow off worry of another terror attack. The Washington Post gave us a sneak preview of Woodward's newest tome where Obama acted so flippantly toward another 9/11. (my bold) Woodward's book portrays Obama and the White House as barraged by warnings about the threat of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil...

In a press conference designed to defend his economic policies, President Obama waded deeper into religious tensions gripping the nation by speaking out forcefully in defense of religious pluralism. Speaking a day before the nine-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Obama made a passionate plea to Americans to differentiate between terrorists and Muslims. “We have to make sure that we don't start turning on each other,” an impassioned Obama said at his first full press conference since May. “And I will do everything that I can as long as I'm president of the United States to remind...

"President Obama is a Muslim." "He's not an American citizen." "He wasn't even born here." None of this is true. But to surprising levels, it is believed. Blame it on the media, or on human nature. All presidents deal with image problems — that they're too weak or too belligerent, too far left or far right. But Obama also faces questions over documented facts, whether it's because people want to believe the lie or simply don't know any better. "Trust and distrust — that explains almost all of it," says Nicholas DiFonzo, professor of psychology at the Rochester Institute of...

It just won't go away. The Pew Research Center reports that a growing number of Americans -- nearly one in five -- think President Obama is a Muslim, despite evidence to the contrary. At 18 percent, the number is up from 11 percent in March 2009, soon after he took office. The nationwide telephone survey reached more than 3,000 on landlines and cell phones in late July and early August -- before the president's comments last weekend in support of the right of Muslims to build a mosque in Lower Manhattan near the site of the 9/11 attacks. "The view...

Today, Rush Limbaugh mentioned Barack Obama's recitation of the Muslim call to prayer. Here is my article which first appeared on February 27, 2009 -- at the Grand Old Partisan blog, on the actual two-year anniversary of Obama's interview with Nicholas Kristof at The New York Times. On this day [February 27] in 2007, Barack Obama said the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth." In an interview with The New York Times, Senator Obama recited, "with a first-class [Arabic] accent," the opening lines of this prayer:

There's just no convincing some people. Nearly one in five people —18% — wrongly believe President Barack Obama is a Muslim, according to a poll released on Thursday. The number is up from the 11% who thought Obama was a Muslim in March 2009. The percentage who correctly believe the president is Christian is down to 34%. The largest share of those polled— 43% — said they weren't sure what the president's religion is, up from the 34% who said they didn't know early last year. Islam is a Jew-hating creed. The only "debate" on this point occurs between those who have educated themselves on Islam and those who have not. In October of 2003 my colleague and close friend Jamie Glazov conducted an important symposium on the subject of Islamic Anti-Semitism. Robert Spencer laid out some of the key verses from the Koran and Hadiths which demand Jew-Hatred: Spencer: Muslim anti-Semites often appeal to several Qur’anic verses castigating Jews. In Suras 2:65 and 7:166 Allah says to a group of Jews, “Be ye apes, despised and rejected.” Muslim anti-Semites worldwide today refer to Jews as...

President Obama's fixation on all things Islamic tripped him up again this weekend when he seemed to give strong support to the Ground Zero Mosque project, then quickly "clarified" his way into yet more trouble. Mr. Obama gratuitously raised the mosque issue at an Iftar dinner with Muslim-American leaders, a double dose of symbolism that drew immediate fire. But just as Mr. Obama's defenders had settled on a "profile in courage" story line, the president backed off, lamely parsing his earlier statements. The president's stance on the issue is now fair game.... America's enemies clearly are delighted with the prospect...

After weeks of heated debate over plans for an Islamic community center near Ground Zero - the site of the 9/11 attacks on New York - it seems Muslim leaders will soon back down, agreeing to move to a new site. ...

The NY Times reported that Barack Obama "strongly" supports the building of a mosque at Ground Zero: Obama Strongly Backs Islam Center Near 9/11 Site WASHINGTON — President Obama delivered a strong defense on Friday night of a proposed Muslim community center and mosque near ground zero in Manhattan, using a White House dinner celebrating Ramadan to proclaim that “as a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country.” He understands “I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. Ground zero is, indeed, hallowed ground,” the...

Barack Obama has backtracked over his support for plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero. The U.S. President was hit by a furious backlash from victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks after he backed the highly controversial plans in a speech on Friday. (snip)Sally Regenhard, whose firefighter son was killed at the World Trade Center, condemned the President for a 'gross lack of sensitivity to the 9/11 families and to the people who were lost'.

WASHINGTON -- A White House spokesman said today that politics wasn’t a factor in President Obama’s remarks about building a mosque near the World Trade Center site. Deputy White House press secretary Bill Burton said it was “not politics” but Obama’s feeling that he had the obligation as president to “make sure people are treated equally” under the Constitution. Obama has said that religious freedom allows the mosque to be built, but without commenting on the wisdom of building one two blocks from ground zero. Republicans have pounded him for his comments, making it a prime midterm election issue. Burton...

For President Obama, there is no vacation from vacillation. By the time he got to the beach this weekend, the controversy over his Friday speech seemingly supporting the proposed mosque at the 9/11 site left him so rattled, he could hardly wait to put on his flip-flops. Even the hastily arranged Gulf vacation itself was more of a placation, as in placating those who complained his family time off had not included the BP-besieged Gulf shores, making his ringing words of support ring hollow. Soon after he arrived he hastened to hollow out his words from the evening before, at...

Barack Obama made one of those "Friday statements"... you know... the ones that are designed to get ignored by the media over the weekend. Unfortunately for him, these statements are not being ignored. In fact, Obama's statements, which basically gave an endorsement to the construction of a mosque and Muslim community center only two blocks from the site of the worst terrorist attack in American history, show that he is squarely in the corner of those who have no understanding of what America is all about. On Friday night, during an Iftar dinner at the White House celebrating the Muslim...

Americans are aghast that the president approves of the construction of a Victory Mosque by a pro-terrorism imam six hundred feet from Ground Zero. Revolting, yes. Shocking, no. One thing we know about Barack Obama is that he is committed to ruling in direct opposition to three-fourths of the American people on all core issues. Reread his contemptible speech in Cairo, in which the president spouted flagrant falsehoods about the charms of Islam, while berating the United States for being a bit churlish about radical Muslim ideology after 9/11. Obama’s boss, George Soros, has always thought we made too much...
