The lone survivor allegedly shot by Kyle Rittenhouse during a night of mayhem took the stand Monday and emotionally described how he feared for his life after watching the teen fatally shoot another man at close range. Gaige Grosskreutz, 27, a trained medic who had provided aid at around 75 protests, denied that he was trying to kill Rittenhouse, then 17, by pulling a pistol on him after the teen fatally shot two other men in the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Aug. 25, 2020. “That’s not the kind of person that I am. It’s not why I was out...

If Americans want to see people trying to look intelligent while arguing, cable news already provides numerous showcases of Smart People Behaving Badly. At this point, 2020 seems like the awful Thanksgiving dinner-turned-shouting-match that just won’t stop. On top of a COVID lockdown-induced recession, our culture has become coarser and more vitriolic than ever. Riots and protests have broken out in dozens of cities as both political parties hurl invective at each other. So, what did NBC decide to return to the airwaves in the middle of this blazing-hot zeitgeist? A remake of an insult-filled show.It seems sadly ironic that the...

Once again, the mantra of Never let a crisis go to waste rears its ugly head as we all try to survive the coronavirus pandemic. This time it is in the charge of homophobia being tossed at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and its blood donation guidance. Is it an antiquated and homophobic policy in place by the FDA which rejects blood donations (or plasma) from a gay man if that man has had sex within the last three months? This is the case that Bravo executive producer and television show host Andy Cohen makes after he tried...

The Florida man who claims his severe coronavirus case was cured overnight by an anti-malaria drug touted by President Trump says he’s feeling good a week later — but has warned others not to try the “dangerous” drug at home. Rio Giardinieri, 52, said he returned to his Miami Shores home Tuesday night and is recovering well after being prescribed hydroxychloroquine, according to Yahoo News. “Man, I’m alive and kickin’,” Giardinieri told the outlet. “Feeling good.” But he warned people not to take the “game-changing” drug without a doctor’s consent. “The one thing that scares me to death is people...

“Survivor: Island of the Idols” was rocked by scandal on Wednesday, when two contestants admitted they exaggerated a complaint of “inappropriate touching” in order to win the game. With the support of the other women, Kellee brought her complaints to producers, who mediated the situation off-camera with all the show’s cast. However, once Kellee was out of earshot, Missy and Elizabeth admitted to each other that they exaggerated their reactions to Dan’s behavior in order to better position him for elimination. According to People, Elizabeth even brazenly admitted that she didn’t feel uncomfortable but said if she “can play up...

The fire killed his father, sister and 34 others. He was just 8 years old at the time. As the 80th anniversary approached in 2017, Doehner told The Associated Press that he and his parents, older brother and sister were all on the 804-foot-long (245-meter-long) zeppelin traveling to Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey. The airship departed on May 3, 1937. Doehner’s father headed to his cabin after using his movie camera to shoot some scenes of the station from the airship’s dining room. That was the last time Doehner saw him. Doehner and his family were on their...

Edward Mosberg, a Holocaust survivor who extended an invitation to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to tour the concentration camps in Germany with him - the real concentration camps, not the ones the socialist freshman congresswoman claimed were at America’s borders - has now shrugged off her refusal and instead called out her “stupidity” and demanded her ouster from Congress. The guy is 93 years old. If anyone would know “stupidity” when he sees it, he would. The background: AOC, in wildly ridiculous comments, called out President Donald Trump’s border detention policies for illegals - essentially the same set in place by...

Around noon on Sunday, March 31, Alicia Judy, 40, left her home in Scottsdale to run 16 to 18 miles on the Spur Cross Trail, which would lead her to Skull Mesa, a breathtaking summit surrounded by towering cactus trees. The path was very familiar to Judy, an experienced trail runner and nurse who has been running through the parks in her area regularly since moving to Arizona five years ago. Still, she studied the map before she left, double-checked her route with a fellow hiker on the trailhead, and made sure to pack her phone, compass, water, and maps...

All in all, Lindell says, he suffered through about “40 years of addiction” between alcohol, powder cocaine and crack. All that started to change...
