Global Market Insights estimates the surrogacy market will grow from $14 billion in 2022 to $129 billion by 2032. One of the forms of surrogacy is known as gestational surrogacy, which is when a woman carries a baby that she's not genetically related to for another person. Atrium Health CMC’s Women’s Institute Medical Director and Director of Fertility Preservation Dr. Michelle Matthews said in the past 20 years gestational surrogacy is used more often for family building. “Women are waiting until they’re older to have children, so as we wait until we get older, we can have more gynecologic conditions...

She had the world at her feet after rising to fame in a popular Chinese television show before a surrogacy scandal ruined it all. Zheng Shuang, originally from Shenyang, China, enjoyed all the perks of being a successful actress after her 2009 breakout role in Meteor Show, including modelling for Prada and receiving nominations at prestigious award shows. The 33-year-old's personal life equally flourished, and she was enjoying a romantic relationship with one of China's biggest reality TV producers, Zhang Heng, with the pair marrying in America in 2019 before opting to become parents via surrogacy. China forbids surrogacy, but...

The new Italian law restricting overseas travel for surrogacy services goes further than other countries, but same-sex couples face family planning hurdles across Europe. A new law that bans Italians from travelling abroad for surrogate pregnancies is expected to make it harder for LGBTQ people to become parents – but Italy is far from the only country where family planning is a challenge for same-sex couples. Italy’s restrictive approach to surrogacy isn’t new – or unique. Many European countries ban surrogacy outright, while others have strict rules about citizenship, payment, and relationship status. Those rules have prompted some couples to...

The nonprofit group Men Having Babies has held its annual conference in the Miami area since 2018.An organization that helps gay men become fathers through surrogacy is rethinking its future in Florida after receiving a flood of anti-LGBTQ hate. Back in 2017, the international nonprofit Men Having Babies (MHB) chose the Fort Lauderdale area to host one of its eight international gay parenting conferences. The group has since held six of its annual conferences in the state. But while gearing up for its annual Florida Surrogacy Conference & Expo, scheduled for October 4–5 at the Pride Center at Equality Park...

There has never been, nor will there ever be, anything quite so special as the love between the mother and a son, so the proverb goes. But this fundamental bond has been tested in a landmark legal battle in London.... The men, referred to as 'X' and 'Y', agreed that she would have contact with the child after it was born.... ...she signed a parental order handing responsibility for the child to the men along with a second order ensuring that she could have regular contact with the child...But the gay couple reneged on that agreement... then pursued a series...

On June 12, the Massachusetts House unanimously voted to pass a bill that would allow mothers to sell their newborns, and base parenthood solely on intent. Currently, Massachusetts allows for paid surrogacy and traditional surrogacy, though in cases of traditional surrogacy, the intended parents must legally adopt the baby at birth, which would require a background check. At least one of the intended parents must have a genetic relationship to the child. H. 4672, the “Parentage Equality” bill, would redefine parenthood, changing it from its basis in biology or adoption (as a means of providing a home to a child...

When Gloria Ruiz decided to become a gestational surrogate, she thought she was doing families struggling with infertility a favor. Now that she’s carried other people’s children twice, Ruiz doubts sacrificing her well-being for people who want to become parents by renting another woman’s body is as generous and kind as her fertility agency told her. Ruiz, a stay-at-home military wife and mom of a child with special needs, initially saw renting her womb as beneficial to her family. They could have some extra cash but not lose their matriarch to a time-consuming desk job somewhere in a California high-rise....

A California mother has claimed she was told to terminate her surrogate pregnancy at 24 weeks by the child's prospective fathers after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Brittney Pearson, 37, from Sacramento told DailyMail.com that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May at 22 weeks. She says that after a full body MRI revealed the extent of the disease, the gay couple who were paying her to carry their child used legal threats to pressure her into terminating the pregnancy. Initially, Pearson claims, doctors at Sutter Health Medical Centre in Sacramento, believed she would be able to have...

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili announced on June 12 that his country is considering a draft law that would put an end to the country’s booming foreign surrogacy business. The Health, Labor, and Social Affairs Ministry’s current law would put an end to the country’s women carrying and delivering the biological children of foreigners after 2023. Gharibashvili cited several reasons for the law change, including safety concerns, human trafficking risks, and the fear that children are going to the homes of same-sex couples. “There are reports that same-sex couples are picking up the babies born here and there can...

The only consistent conclusion is that such activists view the wants of surrogate parents as more compelling than a child’s life. The delusional leftists arguing that adoption is more “traumatic” than abortion aren’t making a convincing argument for their brutal baby death cult, but they are making a great point against the rise of surrogacy as a means for clients such as gay and “transgender” males to achieve their personal parenting fantasies.Just look at some of the arguments that Elizabeth Spiers, who was adopted as an infant, advanced in a 2021 New York Times essay about “the trauma [adoption] can inflict”...

(LifeSiteNews) — Last month, a photo of a “maternity” shoot went viral. It depicted two gay men holding hands, beaming at into each other’s eyes, with a pregnant young woman in a red dress in the background. The caption: “We did a ‘maternity’ shoot and it came out great!” The woman was a surrogate; she’d been paid to carry a child created with sperm and an egg donor for the two men. The online reaction — which soon escalated into the millions — was immediate. “This is some Handmaid stuff right here,” wrote conservative commentator Bethany Mandel. She’s not wrong....

A question for fellow conservatives: What exactly do we stand for? The left’s recent wave of culture war victories seems to have not only discouraged our commentators from talking about homosexuality, but also softened their conviction that it’s a grave offense against God and nature. Progressives know that a neighbor’s “gay marriage,” Hollywood portrayals of same-sex romance, and adoption celebrations for same-sex couples, do in fact impact conservatives and society writ large. Their activism emphasizes the social sphere because, like conservatives, they’re realistic about the impact of social signals and role models in communities. That’s why it matters when movement...

"Tonight, I have a hard & honest conversation with my friend and fellow @BlazeTV host @RubinReport about his decision to have kids through surrogacy. He tells me "I get why the right has these often legitimate fears." But that CAN'T stop us from having respectful discussions."

On March 16, podcaster Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report tweeted out two photos of himself and his gay partner holding ultrasound photographs and a sign reading: “COMING SOON Baby 1 8/22/22” and “Baby 2, 10/14/22.” Those, presumably, are the projected due dates for when the surrogate mothers Rubin and his partner hired will give birth. Beneath the tweet, the congratulations rolled in. Glenn Beck’s BlazeTV offered congratulations. So did PragerU, Meghan McCain, and conservative activist Christopher Rufo. Many other purported conservative figures joined in. As a founding member of the so-called Intellectual Dark Web who made a very public...

The Democrat-controlled Virginia Senate has proven a tough battle ground for pro-lifers, with losses and wins in the session’s first 30 days.As Virginia rounds the corner in its first session of 2022, legislation passed in the state’s pro-life House faces major challenges in the Senate. Although Virginia ushered in a pro-life governor this January, the Senate is still controlled by pro-abortion Democrats.Last Tuesday’s “crossover” day marked a turning point in the 60-day session, as bills passed in the House and Senate moved down the hall for further votes. The Republican-controlled Virginia House passed HB 304, the Born Alive Infant Protection...

Golly gosh, you learn something new every day about the IVF industry. And you thought it was just about gurgling, picture-perfect infants. IVF porn is one of those sordid things that everyone knows about but no one has the stomach to talk about. Last year’s “Private Life”, a highly-praised Netflix film about a middle-aged couple going through IVF, is typical. Equipped with a cup, the exasperated husband enters a cubicle where a wall-mounted screen is playing hard-core porn. It’s part of the fertility furniture. Back in 2010, a British health think tank, 2020Health published a brief report, Who Said Pornography...

As reported by AP and The Forward, Israel's Supreme Court sitting as the High Court of Justice yesterday ruled that the government must allow same-sex couples and single men to become parents through surrogate mothers on a equal basis with heterosexual couples and single women. Its ruling takes effect in 6 months, in order to give time for the creation of professional guidelines. AP explains: The court ruled in 2020 that a surrogacy law, which had expanded access to single women but excluded gay couples, “disproportionately harmed the right to equality and the right to parenthood” and was unlawful.

By defining parenthood by intention instead of biology, legalized surrogacy becomes a vicious process that is destructive of human life. One of the last states to do so, New York recently legalized commercial surrogacy. This means New Yorkers can now pay women to carry a baby to term. Under New York’s law, which state Sen. Brad Hoylman touts as “a model for other states,” surrogate mothers are also guaranteed legal representation and an abortion if they so choose.Naturally, Gov. Andrew Cuomo touts this as a triumph of “love over fear” and a much-needed update to the law. In contrast to the...

No country should allow the sale of children or the intentional creation of orphans, which, make no mistake, is exactly what is happening with surrogacy. A British man living in the United States who has recently begun a romantic relationship with his daughter’s ex-boyfriend bought a baby and is being praised by media for it. Barrie Drewitt-Barlow paid about $100,000 for his new daughter, Valentina Willow. He is most proud of the baby girl’s looks.“Every parent thinks their baby is the best-looking baby in the world, but the truth is Valentina Willow is the best-looking baby in the world,†Drewitt-Barlow...

On April 9, right in the middle of New York’s epic battle against COVID-19, the state legislature passed, and Governor Cuomo signed, a bill that legalizes commercial surrogacy. As of February 15, 2021, residents of New York will be able to enter into legally enforceable surrogacy contracts. From the beginning to the end, this debate was never driven by any serious consideration of what’s good for women and children, but by “heartstrings rhetoric, celebrity endorsement,” and especially, gay-rights advocates. As I predicted, the final proposal lacked adequate and necessary safeguards against the exploitation and commodification of women’s bodies, or the...
