Operation Gratitude is on the way to accomplishing it's goal this Memorial Day weekend. They are preparing and sending 10,000 individual packages to soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. It's all being done by volunteers. So far this weekend they've sent a little 8,200 individual care packages this weekend. They will be working again tomorrow, Memorial Day, from 10:00 to 4:00. Freedom Ride to St. Anne, Illinois On Sunday, June 22,2003 all motorcyclists are invited to ride together to the hometown of Ryan Beaupre, a Marine helicopter pilot and one of the first casualties in Iraq. We had the largest turnout and most appreciative response from motorists yesterday! At the peak over 40 people were on the four corners of US 41 Bypass & D. Venice Ave. between 1-3PM. The safe return of seven POWs on Palm Sunday morning added to our feelings of joyful thanksgiving. We brought large yellow bows and tied them to the four traffic light posts on the four corners. Like the last rally, we're going to line Fry Boulevard from Veteran's Memorial Park all the way to the Main Gate of Fort Huachuca.
