As of this morning, I am on my last cartridge razor from the plastic dispenser thingy. I am considering changing my shaving habits after a lifetime of disposable and cartridge razors to wet shaving using a safety razor. Expense is one factor. Another is buying razors from woke big business, i.e., Gillette. Ideally, I’d like a high quality, American made, non-woke, and inexpensive shaving solution. Shaving company Harry’s appears to have taken the complaints of a Twitter user with only two followers seriously when shaving off its professional relationship with a conservative personality. Hi folks, I extend to you good wishes from my dialysis chair. I have questions about those classic designed double edge safety razors. Who owns one? Which one do you have? Which company's blades work best for you?Do you have "a collection"? Lastly, are you one of those that have "a shave den"? I figured I would put this topic forward, as a diversion from all the craziness of today. A Gillette advert which references bullying, the #MeToo movement and toxic masculinity has split opinion online. The razor company's short film, called Believe, plays on their famous tagline "The best a man can get", replacing it with "The best men can be". The company says it wants men to hold each other "accountable". Some have praised its message, which aims to update the company's previous message about masculinity, but others say Gillette is now "dead" to them. It currently has 23,000 likes and 214,000 dislikes, at time of writing - and it's increasing all the time.

I need some straight razor advice, from some straight razor veterans. I've been shaving with a safety razor, mug and brush for 12 years. I've moved to a shavette straight razor in the last 3 months. It seems to me that moving to a pure straight razor will mean sending razors off to be honed 3-4 times per year @ around $30 per pop. Besides the "romance" and general badass-ness of using a true straight razor, what would be the advantages/disadvantages of moving to a pure straight razor/throat cutter?
