S.A. McCarthy @pipesmoknpapist S.A. McCarthy is a news writer at The Washington Stand. A Montana judge is striking down a state law defining “sex” as either male or female, claiming that the law violates the Montana State Constitution. In an order issued on Tuesday, Montana District Court Judge Shane Vannatta, the first Montana judge to openly identify as homosexual, declared Senate Bill 458 to be facially unconstitutional according to Montana state law. The legislation, passed by the Legislature in 2023 and signed into law by Gov. Greg Gianforte, a Republican, revised state law to declare: In human beings, there are...

Scientific American has published a piece claiming that “misinformation,” such as the notion that there are only two sexes, is “being used against transgender people” and in order to target “gender-affirming medical care.”The article states that there are three types of “misinformation,” and they are “oversimplifying scientific knowledge, fabricating and misinterpreting research, and promoting false equivalences.”Three types of misinformation are being used against transgender people: oversimplifying scientific knowledge, fabricating and misinterpreting research, and promoting false equivalences. https://t.co/1AOp6Bk6A2 — Scientific American (@sciam) April 20, 2024The piece asserts that “Many of the arguments against trans rights center on the idea that transness...

Men, like any group, cannot be neatly categorized into a one-size-fits-all box. However, that doesn’t stop a large part of the population from assuming they’re all the same. It’s important to challenge these stereotypes and recognize the unique qualities and differences among men. Here are 10 common myths about men and why they just aren’t true. 1. Men Aren’t Emotional. 2. Men Are All About Physical Strength. 3. Want a partner? Attract love with the power of your mind. 4. Men Don’t Need Companionship. 5. Men Aren’t Good Communicators. 6. Men Don’t Appreciate the Arts. 7. Men Aren’t Nurturing. 8....

Have you ever wondered about the phrase "common sense"? Simply put, it's a rational way of thinking that comes naturally to all humans. It's an innately provided type of knowledge that is unspoken and unwritten. It's taken for granted. We acquire such reasoning imperceptibly from the day we are born. Such reasoning keeps us from even contemplating notions that violate our God-given ability to make prudent judgments. Contrarily, an irrational way of thinking might cause us to accept such statements as "my dog drove me to the supermarket" or "my mother is younger than I am." There was a time...

When I was in college, I read a book by George Gilder, one of the wisest thinkers of the last half-century, titled “Naked Nomads,” which had a deep impact on me. It was about single men and all the pathologies associated with them. For example, Gilder drove home the point that the biggest factor concerning violent crime was that it is overwhelmingly committed by single men. While there was no danger — I would say no chance — that I would commit a violent crime (though I was, at the time, single), this fact along with others in the book...

I don’t want to live in a society where fun memes like “Florida man” are destroyed by progressives’ ugly manipulations of language. “Florida person with a penis” just isn’t that catchy, and it wrecks the whole rhythm of the gag. Yet such is the kind of linguistic atrocity being wreaked on grade schoolers by some Sunshine State pointy heads. According to FoxNews.com, “P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School, a K-12 public school affiliated with the University of Florida in Gainesville, administered a slideshow lesson on human anatomy for 6th-grade students in May.” according to FNC. (Wasn’t Public Developmental Research School one...

Three years ago I attended the Conservative Political Action Conference and was struck by something I later concluded was probably a figment of my imagination. This year I returned, and, rather than having my recollection dispelled, it was confirmed. The young women who attend CPAC are spectacular. No kidding: What’s up with this concentration of incredibly attractive young, conservative women? It’s noticeable and remarkable. They are beautiful and stylish in the way French women often are, which is to say in their own way, not in a conforming or predictable way. They all look like the girl the high school...

While the debate on whether or not “trans women” (i.e. biological males) should be allowed to compete against women in sports presses on, proponents of transgenderism continue to celebrate these “brave” “women.” One sports publication has gone as far as to name trans MMA fighter Fallon Fox, who has twice broken his biological female opponent’s skulls, the “bravest athlete in history.” To be fair, the sports publication who recognized Fox in this way is Outsports, a magazine dedicated to LGBT athletes, but it remains just as ironic to call a man who opts to fight women instead of other men...

Weeks after J.K. Rowling expressed disdain for a British employer firing an employee for stating sex is binary, another employer—this time in the U.S.—allegedly fired a freelance columnist for saying there are only two sexes. Jon Caldara, a regular columnist for The Denver Post, announced Jan. 17 in a Facebook post that the publication had fired him for his traditional, but apparently offensive and “insensitive,” beliefs about sex and gender. An editor’s note posted Jan.21 at The Denver Post confirmed Megan Schrader, editor of The Denver Post’s editorial pages, decided the publication no longer would run Caldara’s weekly freelance column,...

"This whole concept of political correctness ... it's going to destroy our nation." That was the no-nonsense response of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson to Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-Va.) earlier this week. Wexton was trying for a "gotcha" moment in a congressional hearing when she asked Dr. Carson if he would "apologize" for being quoted for expressing concern over "big, hairy men" trying to gain entry into an Alaska women's homeless shelter. I could not have said it better. On yesterday's edition of Washington Watch, Dr. Carson – or Dr. Politically Incorrect as I've called him -...

One of my biggest beefs with “toxic masculinity” is not that some men use their masculinity in toxic ways. You’d be hard pressed to find a woman who hasn’t dealt with a man who didn’t display toxic masculinity. A new, more educated sounding term which has seemingly replaced what we used to refer to as being an asshole, dick, douche, creep, or pervert. My main issue with toxic masculinity has always been the assumption only masculinity could be toxic. That only women could be victims, only men could be predators. When, as a woman (note that byline) I’ve been witness...

The perennial question of whether men and women can be just friends is finding new life among evangelical Christians. Evangelical author Aimee Byrd is promoting intimate friendships between opposite-sex Christians as a way to bond spiritually while modeling for the world that men and women can be close without having to worry about bad behavior and harassment claims. Byrd has written a series of blog posts on the topic and promises to elaborate in her new book “Why Can’t We Be Friends? Avoidance Is Not Purity,” set to be released in late June. Not surprisingly, Byrd is no fan of...

A group of students and parents from Minnesota filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the federal government and their school district for allowing a transgender student who was born male but identifies as female into the girls’ locker rooms, showers, and restrooms. The lawsuit is the latest in a series of challenges to the Obama administration’s bathroom mandate issued in May that requires public schools and universities nationwide to give transgender students full access to school facilities based on their gender identity instead of their biological sex. Schools that do not comply with the administration’s guidance could face legal action or...

Vatican City, Apr 15, 2015 / 09:22 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Pope Francis has warned against gender theories which seek to eradicate differences between man and woman, saying they perpetuate the very problems they are trying to solve. “Experience teaches us: to know each other well and grow in harmony, the human being requires the reciprocity of man and woman,†the pontiff said Wednesday to participants in his weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square. In his Apr. 15...

As scanning becomes more sophisticated researchers are finding that there is actually a difference in the way development takes place in the brains of men and women starting in the teenage years.

In modern times there has been a tendency to downplay the differences between men and women, preferring to see whatever differences have historically existed as simply social constructs. This thinking was insisted upon by many as a kind of political correctness that must be held otherwise punishment and excoriation was sure to follow.Nevertheless, most people with common sense have always known that men and women are very different, and that these differences are not simply the result of social constructs or the way people were raised. Now scientists have made discoveries not only affirming that men and women are different, but...

Melanie McGrath reviews The Sexual Paradox: Troubled Boys, Gifted Girls and the Real Difference Between the Sexes by Susan Pinker Why is it that some boys who fail at school or university - Albert Einstein and Bill Gates come to mind - go on to forge spectacular careers while many talented girls never reach the top of the career ladder? Here, in a nutshell, is the paradox explored in the developmental psychologist Susan Pinker's new book. It is time, says Pinker, to stop thinking of men as the 'default' setting and women as variants of the norm, when advances in...
