U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- Becky Sullivan of NPR makes a startling claim of fact, which is not in evidence from the trial or the criminal complaint. It is especially relevant because it is a claim about a crucial moment in the sequence of events where the apparent first aggressor, Joseph Rosenbaum, attacked Kyle Rittenhouse. Mr. Rosenbaum attempted to grab the barrel of the rifle Rittenhouse had pointed toward the ground between him and Rosenbaum. The relevant testimony is at 2:34:40 in the video of the trial. The rifle is pointed at the ground between Rittenhouse and Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum is first running, then lunging at...

The Las Vegas Raiders waived 2020 first-round pick Damon Arnette and have now cut ties with both first-round picks from that draft before the midpoint of their second season. General manager Mike Mayock called it a “painful decision” to release Arnette on Monday but said it was necessary in response to a social media post with Arnette brandishing a gun and threatening to kill someone. Arnette was drafted 19th overall with a pick acquired in the Khalil Mack trade despite what Mayock called “significant concerns” about his character. Arnette was rated lower on most draft rankings but the Raiders believed...

The Biden administration in just the past year alone stockpiled the records of more than 54 million U.S. gun owners and is poised to drastically alter gun regulations to ensure that information on Americans who own firearms ultimately ends up in the federal government's hands, according to internal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. The ATF in fiscal year 2021 processed 54.7 million out-of-business records, according to an internal ATF document obtained by the Gun Owners of America, a firearms advocacy group, and provided exclusively to the Free Beacon. When a licensed gun store...

A witness in the murder trial of Kyle Rittenhouse told the court that Gaige Grosskreutz, one of the men who Rittenhouse shot, had a round chambered in a handgun at the time of the shooting. The Daily Wire reports that Jason Lackowski is the seventh witness called in the Rittenhouse trial. Lackowski came to the aid of Grosskreutz, the third individual whom Rittenhouse allegedly shot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 25, 2020. The Illinois county that's home to Chicago is going to make legal gun owners pay for the crimes of illegal gun owners, regardless of what any court might say. Cook County slapped a tax on guns in 2012 and added ammunition to the tax in 2015, according to Fox News. The tax was $25 per gun, with centerfire ammunition taxed at 5 cents per round and rimfire ammo at one cent per round, according to Fox. An Oct. 21 Illinois Supreme Court ruling, written by Justice Mary Jane Theis, found the tax was unconstitutional and a violation of the Second...

(AP) — The woman in charge of weapons on the movie set where actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins said Wednesday night that she had inspected the gun Baldwin shot but doesn’t know how a live bullet ended up inside. “Who put those in there and why is the central question,” Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer for the movie “Rust” said in a statement issued by one of her lawyers, Jason Bowles of Albuquerque, New Mexico. “Hannah kept guns locked up, including throughout lunch on the day in question (Oct. 21), and she instructed her department to watch the...

President Biden admitted Wednesday that Democrats need to “produce results” — a stunning confession following Tuesday’s election upsets. The intense day at the polls saw Democrats lose the gubernatorial race in Virginia — a state Biden won by 10 points in 2020. Meanwhile, his party only narrowly won in heavily Democratic New Jersey on Wednesday. Republicans, who are looking to retake the House in 2022, championed their victories this week as the “red wave.” When pressed about the crushing outcomes, Biden appeared to admit his party had failed to deliver results.

This post was updated on Nov. 3 at 5:15 p.m.When Wednesday’s oral argument in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen drew to a close after roughly two hours of debate, it seemed likely that New York’s 108-year-old handgun-licensing law is in jeopardy. But the justices’ eventual ruling might be a narrow one focused on the New York law (and others like it), saving broader questions on the right to carry a gun outside the home for later. The law requires anyone who wants a license to carry a concealed handgun to show “proper cause” for the license. Courts...

The Supreme Court's questioning during oral arguments in a New York gun rights case showed that several justices have strong reservations about the state’s highly restrictive regulations for getting concealed carry permits. The case, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen, is potentially the biggest gun rights case to go before the high court in more than a decade. New York Solicitor General Barbara Underwood noted that, under current rules, the state has the discretion to evaluate a person’s reason for applying for a permit, as an applicant has to show "proper cause" for needing one. Underwood...

The Supreme Court on Wednesday seemed ready to strike down a restrictive New York gun permitting law, but the justices also seemed worried that a broad ruling could threaten gun restrictions on subways, bars, stadiums and other gathering places. The court was hearing arguments in its biggest guns case in more than a decade, a dispute over whether New York's law violates the Second Amendment right to “keep and bear arms.” Chief Justice John Roberts and other conservative members of the court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, suggested New York's law goes too far. Why, Roberts asked, does a...

One potential juror in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse wondered out loud during jury selection why anyone would need a “machine gun.” On August 25, 2020, Rittenhouse was carrying a legally owned semi-automatic Smith & Wesson M&P rifle. Another juror expressed how “scared” she was to be so close to where Rittenhouse lived. And still another said she couldn’t be impartial because her family wasn’t impartial. And so went jury selection in the most consequential American self defense case in years. These people aren’t alone. According to now former Rittenhouse attorney, Robert Barnes, who did pre-trial polling, fully two-thirds of potential...

Alec Baldwin took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a message on Instagram from one of the "Rust" movie crew members. He captioned the post: "Read this." The post came from Terese Davis, who appears to have been a part of the costume department. "I'm so sick of this narrative," Davis began. "I worked on this movie. The story being spun of us being overworked and surrounded by unsafe, chaotic conditions is bulls--t." Davis then discussed the amount of time the crew worked and how they were not "too tired to do their jobs." "This is all provable by daily...

Officials on Monday unveiled a $250 million investment to implement a public safety plan over the next 3 years, and curtail gun violence around the state.
