Rep. Lauren Boebert announced Wednesday night that she is ditching her reelection bid next year in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District to run instead in the state’s 4th Congressional District, which is on the other side of the state and is far more favorable to Republicans. Boebert won by just 546 votes last year in the 3rd District, which spans Colorado’s Western Slope into Pueblo and southeastern Colorado. The 4th District is anchored in Douglas County and includes Loveland and the state’s rural Eastern Plains.

Democratic strategist David Axelrod on Saturday suggested that Hillary Clinton skip her third and final debate with Donald Trump. The former White House adviser to President Obama responded to Trump's call for a drug test before his next debate with Clinton later this month. "You have to wonder if @HillaryClinton will/should reconsider next debate, given the depths to which this has sunk," Axelrod tweeted. Drug testing?!? You have to wonder if @HillaryClinton will/should reconsider next debate, given the depths to which this has sunk. — David Axelrod (@davidaxelrod) October 15, 2016 ADVERTISEMENT Trump floated the idea of a drug test...

During a panel discussion on MSNBC on Wednesday, host Martin Bashir and guests mocked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for misleading those who trusted him into a political dead end which also had the effect of reducing the Republican Party’s approval ratings. Bashir repeatedly linked Cruz to Branch Davidian sect leader David Koresh who perished after a federal raid on his facility in Waco, Texas. “Do you think Ted Cruz is a bit like the David Koresh of the Republican Party?” Bashir asked a visibly shaken BuzzFeed reporter, McKay Coppins. “He’s a bit like a character who believes himself to be...

Yeah, Herman Cain won the Florida straw poll, crushing Mitt Romney and Rick Perry. And OK, a CBS poll recently found him tied with Romney among likely Republican primary voters. Sure, he also scored a resounding victory in another straw poll this weekend. And Rasmussen just today released the finding that 56% of GOP voters like Cain's 9-9-9 plan. So is that enough to make the Associated Press consider Cain a first-tier candidate? Nah. On MSNBC's "Daily Rundown" this morning, AP's political editor, Liz Sidoti, sniffed "we still consider him a second-tier candidate." View the video here.

Entrapment n. In criminal law, the act of law enforcement officers or government agents inducing or encouraging a person to commit a crime when the potential criminal expresses a desire not to go ahead. The key to entrapment is whether the idea for the commission or encouragement of the criminal act originated with the police or government agents instead of with the "criminal. It's turning into quite the morning for NBCers to defend the left on Morning Joe . . . First, Chuck Todd flatly rejected the notion that the MSM failed to adequately report on Van Jones, suggesting coverage...

The revision of the deficit projection now shows that the US has now set forth on a course under the Obama administration to nearly double the national debt over the next ten years. When the national debt rose by 5 trillion under 8 years of the Bush Administration, the President promised fiscal responsibility in Washington. Apparently, the administrations view of fiscal responsibility is that they spend every dollar imaginable with no regard to the strength of the dollar or US bond rating. The timing of the deficit projections fills in one more piece of the puzzle as to why the...

...Barack Obama reported raising at least $10 million from more than 130,000 donors today after Palin, the Alaska governor, addressed the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, and criticized the Democratic presidential nominee. ``Sarah Palin's attacks have rallied our supporters in ways we never expected,'' Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said. ``And we fully expect John McCain's attacks tonight to help us make our grassroots organization even stronger.''

Wis. Gov. Vows Veto on Voter ID Bill MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin lawmakers passed a bill Wednesday that would require voters to provide a driver's license or other government-issued photo identification before casting a ballot. Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle said he would veto the measure. If the bill becomes law, Wisconsin would join South Carolina with the toughest requirements for voter identification in the country, said Jennie Drage Bowser, who tracks state election laws at the National Conference of State Legislatures. Indiana lawmakers Tuesday passed a similar voter identification bill, and Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels has said he will...

THE NEW YORK OBSERVER will report tomorrow: 'Former 60 Minutes Wednesday executive editor Josh Howard has told colleagues that before he resigns, the 23-year CBS News veteran will demand that the network retract remarks by CBS president Leslie Moonves, correct its official story line and ultimately clear his name'... In the event of a lawsuit, Mr. Howard has told associates that he would like to see Moonves put under oath to talk about his own roles in the network's stubborn, hapless defense of the flawed segment on President Bush's National Guard service. Howard has also indicated to colleagues that he...

President Bush plans to reactivate his reelection campaign's network of donors and activists to build pressure on lawmakers to allow workers to invest part of their Social Security taxes in the stock market, according to Republican strategists. White House allies are launching a market-research project to figure out how to sell the plan in the most comprehensible and appealing way, and Republican marketing and public-relations gurus are building teams of consultants to promote it, the strategists said. The campaign will use Bush's campaign-honed techniques of mass repetition, never deviating from the script and using the politics of fear to build...

running clintons... by Mia T, 2.16.03 WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Ex-Clinton political aide Bob Weiner is slamming the D.C. downtown Renaissance Hotel's new presidential photo sports bar as a ''deification of Bush, anti-Clinton, and thereby partisan.'' ...Weiner said, ''I saw an entrance corridor of four dramatic George W. Bush photos, another Bush photo on a wall, and one Clinton photo -- buried in a corner inside the actual bar, of him playing pool. To me, and to several hotel employees with whom I spoke, the Bush photos were disproportionate considering that Clinton is our most recent and...
