White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt acknowledged the meeting later Wednesday when asked about reporting that administration officials were huddling with GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert.
“Doesn’t that show the level of transparency when we are willing to sit down with members of Congress and address their concerns?” she told reporters at the press briefing.
Leavitt added: “I’m not going to detail conversations that took place in the Situation Room.”
After the meeting, Boebert wrote on X, “I want to thank White House officials for meeting with me today. Together, we remain committed to ensuring transparency for the American people.”
She later told CNN’s Manu Raju that Trump did not pressure her to take her name off of the discharge petition and that while Epstein came up in the White House meeting, other topics were also covered.
Separately, President Donald Trump and Rep. Nancy Mace, another Republican who’s signed the petition, had been playing phone tag for the past 24 hours. The South Carolina Republican sent a direct message to the president Wednesday outlining why she’s supporting the discharge petition, according to a source familiar with the message who said it largely mirrored a public statement in which she said: “I will NEVER abandon other survivors.”
But both the meeting and Trump’s efforts to talk to Mace underscored the administration’s concerns around the Epstein saga...

As Equine posted, if Trump were implicated in this situation he wouldn’t be POTUS. They’ve had 2016, 2020, and 2024 to smear him if there had been one speck of evidence even hinting to involvement.
They expended years of effort, money, and time to completely invent complicated lies about him. That would’ve been unnecessary if he were truly guilty.
Of course, they’re not above inventing lies NOW, so we have to expect that. IA is very powerful.
I do not understand why Republicans want to get on board with this stupid Democrat game that the media has already figured out how to spin against Republicans. It does not matter whether it is true or not, it will lead the news cycle for months and get in the way of a substantive agenda. MTG et al’s thirst for drama will be highly destructive of a meaningful agenda. Why can’t they put half as much effort into election reform? They don’t seem to understand they THEY are the ones that will lose their seats over this. FOOLS, every one of them.

the same CNN article linked below seems to imply that Michael Wolff and Epstein were conspiring to blackmail Trump: “Epstein, according to the email, responded, “if we were able to craft an answer for him, what do you think it should be?”
Wolff answered, “I think you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency. You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you...”

Seems like I remember someone campaigning on declassifying all kinds of things because the people have the right to know what their government and intel agencies are doing and hiding.
That not happening, no firings and/or arrests of crooked FBI agents, no results on the J6 fedsurrection(aside from congress members who’s phones were tapped giving themselves $500k for it) and DOGE being mostly shut down has the young voters very pissed.
This is exactly what I’ve told my democrat friends and family - “be careful what you wish for”.
They want this information released just before the mid-terms.
