Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson has died aged 61 after a 17-year battle with cancer. The Swedish pop star, whose most iconic hits included It Must Have Been Love and Listen To Your Heart, passed away on Monday morning and her bandmate, Per Gessle, said 'things will never be the same.' The musician retired from touring three years ago on doctor's orders, and is survived by husband Mikael Bolyos and their two children, daughter Inez Josefin, 26, and son Oscar, 23.

Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson has been admitted to hospital suffering from a brain tumour, according to reports. Her record label EMI Sweden says medical tests showed the singer has a small tumour in the back of her head. But it says more tests are needed to determine proper treatment. The tumour was detected after Marie fainted in her Stockholm home last week, reports Sky News. Swedish duo Roxette were due to launch their new single A Thing About You in three weeks. They are also due to start a European tour in late October.
