President Joe Biden claimed he was “raised in the Puerto Rican community” during his visit to Puerto Rico on Monday. “I was sort of raised in the Puerto Rican community at home politically,” Biden said. The president commented about his experience with the Puerto Rican community during his visit to the island to tour the devastation from Hurricane Fiona. He informed the audience that in “relative terms” there was a large Puerto Rican population in his home state of Delaware.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has raised more than $66 million so far this calendar year, the most it has raised at this point in a midterm election year, it says. The DNC posted on Twitter on Saturday that it raised $16.1 million during the month of May, contributing to that record total. Politico was the first to report the figures.

A group led by Sidney Powell, an attorney who claimed last year's election was stolen from then-President Trump, raised nearly $15 million in the months after Trump's defeat while contesting the election, an investigation by The Washington Post reveals. The Post cited a financial statement filed in Florida last month by the Powell group, Defending the Republic, that said it had raked in $14.9 million between Dec. 1, 2020 and July 31 of this year. Roughly $5.6 million of those funds were used to cover legal fees and finance unidentified awards and grants, according to the Post.

Jaime Harrison, the South Carolina Democrat who is working to boot Republican Lindsey Graham from his Senate seat is on a great fundraising streak, according to an announcement from his campaign. The Hill reports that Harrison has raised more than $3.5 million in the last three months of 2019, an achievement that his campaign is claiming is the most that any South Carolina Democratic challenger has ever raised. The campaign said that Harrison raked in donations from voters in all 46 of South Carlina’s counties, and also comes from more than 112,000 contributions. And, according to the Post and Courier,...

President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign in March raised $46.4 million and spent $37.7 million — not including money raised with the Democratic National Committee, new federal campaign finance filings indicate. That easily exceeded what presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney generated for March — $12.6 million — while still facing a stiff primary challenge from Rick Santorum, who’s since dropped out. Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee raised $7.3 million in March, not including Obama committee-related transfers. The DNC, which operated a joint fundraising committee with the Obama campaign, may use the money it raises to benefit Obama and other Democrats.

London (CNN) -- New information has emerged from an intelligence operation about the possibility of an attack being planned in or near London, with subway stations and airports of particular concern to officials, a British security source told CNN Thursday. CNN understands that the intelligence operation concerns a possible Mumbai-style attack, the source said. Candidates for federal office will be able to squeeze just a little more money out of their major contributors in the 2010 campaign cycle as the Federal Election Commission announced new individual gift limits Friday morning. Individual donors will now be able to give up to $2,400 per election, or $4,800 for both a primary and a general, according to the new guidelines. That figure represents a slight increase over last year's average return of 38 percent. Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn has raised at least $11,000 for a legal-defense fund in response to investigations of "pay-to-play" contracting in his administration -- a sign, his opponents said, that the mayor is deeply worried about the joint local and federal probes.
