London (CNN) -- New information has emerged from an intelligence operation about the possibility of an attack being planned in or near London, with subway stations and airports of particular concern to officials, a British security source told CNN Thursday.
CNN understands that the intelligence operation concerns a possible Mumbai-style attack, the source said.
The action is not connected to terrorism arrests last month in Stoke, Cardiff and London, the source said.

It would be interesting to know what the ordinary average guy in the UK thinks of all this. We tend to get kinda broad-brushed sometimes about their “muslim problem” but I have to think the regular folks are scared spitless to be confronted with the same threats that we are, but without some of our ability to protect and defend the homeland.
This is not possible, Europa has bent over backwards for the Amish....

For the purposes of this reply, I'll classify myself as an ordinary, average Englilshman (though I'm not sure there is such a thing, any more than there's an ordinary, average American...) Scared spitless? Not in the least. Hardly scared at all, in fact. The threat to any individual is almost invisibly remote, far remoter than many more mundane ways of getting yourself killed. And there's still plenty of ability to protect and defend the homeland...
Oh joy. I'm expecting to be there in April.
