And then our producers using fracking at higher cost locations like N. Dakota stopped pumping and drilling. If I remember correctly it has taken years for market prices to lure such producers back into drilling and pumping. Given the current world situation does it make sense for us to be stopping and discouraging solar and wind production of energy in our country?

If industrial production returns to the US, how much oil and energy will be needed to create the products that require petroleum as the basic raw material? How much extra electricity will be need for energy? Local communities are already fighting to keep huge cloud storage buildings from being built. These sites can provide needed tax payments, but they can also increase consumer electric bills. With returning industry, bitcoin production, and the like, it seems we will need every well managed energy source we can create. F the climate change argument, we need all good energy sources to fuel our leader’s MAGA dreams.

In that case they are not challenging a law. They are saying the Federal government is responsible for enforcing federal law. It just is confirming federal law.

For at least many decades, the DOJ framed their job as defending federal statutes, with no consideration for whether the law is/was constitutional.

Under the Trump administration, the DOJ is actually considering (at least under the Second Amendment) if the law is Constitutional. They have been submitting briefs to the federal courts and actually telling the courts they believe some of the federal laws are not valid under the Constitution.

With crypto there is total visibility to the creation (and destruction in this case) of all funds, so the whole world can see what is going on. With fiat, someone could just create excess funds and no one would know, at least until an audit at some point days/weeks/months later (and even that is less than 100% certain, compared to crypto.) We NEED crypto to avoid stunts like this - how do you really know it's not happening in the fiat world today, or has happened in the past?
