John Fetterman brings the Kennedy Center to complete silence as he delivers this emotional message on stage:
“I know and I love people who voted for President Trump. They are NOT fascists, they’re NOT Nazis, they’re NOT trying to destroy the Constitution.”
“I REFUSE to call people Nazis or fascists. I would never compare anybody — anybody to Hitler.”
“Like Charlie Kirk, all I could say is let people grieve — give people the space. I’m not going to use that terrible thing and that assassination to make my argument and try to put out my views.”
“It’s like, my God, he’s a father that had his neck blown out by a bullet. And now people have forgotten: President Trump was in my state — was shot in the head. Could you imagine where our nation would be if he were hit in the same way as Kirk? We really got to turn the temperature down.”
Accepting the right of others to speak their mind with being killed - or for that matter, not trying to suppress that speech through intimidation, disruption, etc. - is essential for any republican form of government.
The left has pretty much abandoned that idea.
I’m starting to like this “new and improved” version of a Fetterman. Respect is growing and that’s saying a lot... since up til now, I haven’t seen one damn Democrat since Kennedy and Lieberman that I’d consider was worth two spits. Now there seems to be “one”.
I’m glad to say I was mostly wrong about him.
Fetterman says a lot of positive things... But almost all his votes are for the Democratic Party line.
I am trying to think of a contrary vote. Anyone remember one ?
Sounding sane is not going to help you in that crowd.
Didn’t he vote with Republicans on the recent govt shut down?

The Democratic Party has the goal of beating John Fetterman in the primary. I think John Fetterman is going to destroy the Democratic Party. I believe that there enought real American Democrats left in Pennsylvania to vote Fetterman back into office. This will destroy the the Democratic Party.
Fetterman is bravely stepping out.
Though it gives me pause to think America’s political left is in a deeply tragic immoral state of mind that they must be told to do something that should be built into them from parents and grandparents modeling decency and respect.
Earlier this month Senate Democrats tried to stop Trump from attacking drug boats on the high seas.
The measure was defeated. Fetterman was the only Democrat to vote with the Republicans.
Roger that. Perhaps a tad eccentric but compared to the others.......
No, he still votes RAT except for these recent encouraging votes with the GOP.
Our goal now ought to be to flip any remaining silent Rats who remain so because of their ancient family ties, etc.
No one can be sentient, read the news, and agree with the horrible things the Rats are doing and supporting.
He voted to confirm one of the Trump cabinet nominees earlier this year, breaking with most of the other dems. Don’t remember which one.
Same here - he’s been quite a surprise lately - in a good way.
