"I don't worry about the Constitution," said Rep. Phil Hare, Democrat of Illinois, at a town hall meeting where voters questioned his support of the legislation that became Obamacare. You can find the clip on Youtube, where it has 462,084 hits. That was before the 2010 election, in which Hare, running for a third term in a district designed by Democrats to elect a Democrat, was defeated 53 to 43 percent by Bobby Schilling, proprietor of a pizza parlor in East Moline. A lot of politicians are worrying about the Constitution these days. Liberal commentators were shocked this past week...

MOLINE, Ill. - Newly elected Congressman Bobby Schilling and his wife Christie stopped for a quick bite this week at the restaurant they own, Saint Giuseppe's Heavenly Pizza, where the hand-tossed taco pizza is a favorite and the walls are decorated with crosses and psalms. The tea party-affiliated congressman-elect couldn't get a moment's peace, however, as supporters continually interrupted to offer congratulations for the Republican's upset victory in a west-central Illinois district that has gone Democratic for nearly 30 years. "I still have to pinch myself," said the chatty pizzeria owner and father of 10. "They continued to call me...

Bobby Schilling was telling anyone who would listen that his win over U.S. Rep. Phil Hare in Illinois' 17th District was actually a victory for voters and not for him personally. "I felt the groundswell from the voters. We had 30 to 35 percent registered Democrats working in our grass roots operation," Schilling said. The Associated Press reported Schilling received 53.1 percent of the vote, 42.3 percent for Hare and 4.5 percent for Green party candidate Roger K. Davis of Quincy. That victory puts the district under a Republican House member for the first time since the early 1980s when...

Several Illinois constituents tried to get Rep. Phil Hare to answer their questions about the constitutionality of the democrat's nationalized health care plan at a meeting in Springfield, IL on Saturday August 21, 2010. Hare told them their questions were "silly stuff." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RU5HcIQ14UM&feature=player_embedded

A poll conducted by Magellan Strategies for Bobby Schilling’s congressional campaign has him leading U.S. Rep. Phil Hare 45 percent to 32 percent. The automated survey was conducted July 12 and more than 700 responses were then weighted to reflect historic county turnouts for the November election. The result is supposed to have a statistical margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percent at the 95 percent confidence level. Hare’s campaign may question whether the poll was worded in a way that would tend to push responses in a specific direction. They also do not care for Magellan Strategies,...

Here is video of Democrat Rep. Phil Hare, who represents the Illinois 17th Congressional District, being caught on film walking away from constituents who were asking him some hard questions. As he walks away on the street he hugs a woman who comes up to him and tells her, “They’re on the web again……It doesn’t matter.” He then turned to the camera and posed, saying, “Which side is my best?” At that point, a handler with Hare grabbed him by the shoulders and turned him away from the camera and they walked away. As the video says, “How about the...

U.S. Rep. Phil Hare has drawn the ire of a veteran who wants the two-term Democrat from Illinois' 17th Congressional District to stop calling himself a veteran when he's not one.

One of our leaders took an oath and confessed he disregards it on video. "When you take an oath, you hold your soul in your hands and if you break that oath, you open up your fingers and your soul runs through them and is lost." -- Sir Thomas More: These words echoed through my consciousness as Representative Phil Hare from the 17th district of Illinois uttered the amazing words "I don't worry about the Constitution on this," when referring to the recently passed health care bill. The question put to him was: where in the Constitution does it give...

It’s Easter Break and do you know where your Democrat Congressman or Senator is? Because of the historic health care law which Democrats are singularly responsible for, back in their districts, Democrats are as scarce as Easter eggs on Sunday’s Easter egg hunt. (see article) It’s not because of lack of preparation. Democrats have been coached by Democrat leadership that they must make a defense of their historic law. So far the only Democrat making a defense of health care is the Democrat who signed it into law and he’s doing it badly. The president was having really trouble last...

Congressman Phil Hare (D) represents the Illinois 17th Congressional District, which, by virtue of some rather labyrinthine gerrymandering, covers territory not at all far from St. Louis. On Thursday, at a "townhall" meeting in Quincy, IL, he was challenged on his "Yes" vote for the massive new health care reform legislation. "I don't worry about the Constitution on this," he says. The document he swore to uphold, he doesn't worry about. When pressed, he then says "I believe that it says we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness"--showing his ignorance of the difference between the...

Oh Brother… After his bumbling interview yesterday with Adam Sharp where he said he “doesn’t worry about the Constitution”, today Rep. Phil Hare (D-IL) released this YouTube video where he lectured bloggers on the US Constitution. At least, he didn’t quote the Declaration of Independence this time: video Congressman Phil Hare talks about his dedication to the Constitution.” UPDATE: Nice. Rep. Hare gives bloggers the finger: Stay classy, Representative. The latest poll shows only 40% would vote to send Hare back to Congress.

Here is video of Illinois Democrat Rep. Phil Hare saying the U.S. Constitution "is near and dear to me," just one day after having been caught on video saying he "doesn't worry about the Constitution," when asked where in the Constitution the Congress had the authority to pass ObamaCare. Hare complained about the "gotcha journalism" of today, and said he had been "taken out of context." Watch the video below (Via SharpElbows.net) of what Hare said, and it does not sound like he was taken out of context. It sounds like he is clearly saying he just wanted to pass...

* Emotion * Feel good rhetoric * Guilt * Political correctness These all seem to be the underpinnings of the what the left sometimes uses to justify their legislative decisions. At least that is what appeared to be the case when Representative Phil Hare (D – IL) was approached at a town hall meeting recently. In a video that has gone viral after being posted on youtube, you can hear the good Congressman say, “I don’t worry about the Constitution on this.” Let that sink in. We have an elected official publicly stating that he disregards what he took an...

The good news is that we may be on a verge of a wave election where some of the dead wood is removed. Speaking of dead wood, who is the dumbest Democratic Congressman of them all? Two recent nominees: Congressman Hank Johnson of Georgia, who is concerned that if more US troops move to Guam, the island will tip over. For the record, Manhattan's population density is about 100 times that of Guam. We know Manhattan is tipping left, but over? These new troops are not what Malcolm Gladwell wrote about in "The Tipping Point". Congressman Phil Hare of Illinois,...

The latest clueless Democrat Congressman to spout off about the healthcare bill is Rep. Phil Hare. View the absolutely priceless video of Rep. Hare makning a fool of himself several times over, including saying that “I don’t worry about the Constitution on this, to be honest.” Yes, that is clearly an honest, off the cuff remark. In the days to come, let’s see how he and his co-horts spin that one. Sadly for Rep. Hare, he also confuses the Constitution with the Declaration of Independence. He’s also called out on a lie as blatant (and stupid) as the denial a...
