Congressman Phil Hare doesn't 'worry about the Constitution' with regard to guns, either
Examiner ^ | April 3, 2010

Congressman Phil Hare (D) represents the Illinois 17th Congressional District, which, by virtue of some rather labyrinthine gerrymandering, covers territory not at all far from St. Louis. On Thursday, at a "townhall" meeting in Quincy, IL, he was challenged on his "Yes" vote for the massive new health care reform legislation.

"I don't worry about the Constitution on this," he says. The document he swore to uphold, he doesn't worry about. When pressed, he then says "I believe that it says we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness"--showing his ignorance of the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

What does this have to do with gun rights? Well, Congressman Hare clearly doesn't worry about the Constitution when it comes to guns, either, as demonstrated by his "F" grade from Gun Owners of America. Actually, if GOA ever extends their grading scale deeper into the alphabet, Hare could earn a "Z" grade...

Congressman Hare doesn't "worry about the Constitution," but he needs to be taught this November that his constitutents do.

The local bar old smelly drunk gives the middle finger to his constituents and to the nation in one of his "explanations."

I’ll bet he did it on purpose thinking his constituents were too stupid to notice.

What is wrong with the majority of voters in this district? Are these people THAT anti-US that they would continue sending in people like this to Congress?

Some people just are not deserving of representation.

Came back home to Illinois this weekend to visit family for Easter, and found out that one of Phil Hares offices is next to my home church. I knew he was from Illinois, but didn’t know he represented my parents district. Yikes.

I wanna go place a protest sign next to his door, sign, or window.

Maybe have it say, “If you don’t care whats in the Constitution, then why should we care about you!”

In his defense, he’s in abundant company; there are no congressional Democrats who care about that hoary, old document.

Wow, this has been getting a lot of ink. It may be enough to torpedo Hair, in spite of the district lines.

My dad in Nebraska was having a laugh at my expense, as I’ve given him the business over Ben Nelson and now (I live in IL) he’s got someone besides Blago to throw back at me.

Of course there are dozens more, if he only knew!

""I don't worry about the Constitution on this," he says. The document he swore to uphold, he doesn't worry about. "

ATTENTION LEGAL EAGLES...

WHY do we have "oaths of office" if they can be ignored, broken and ridiculed at will?

Is there no legal remedy for violating the "oath of office"?

Who does it fall upon to press charges, or file suits against those who violate oaths of office?

Does an "oath of office" Constitute a "verbal contract" with the government, who is "the People" of the United States?

If so, can we enter into a class action lawsuit against said dickheads who violate the "oaths of office"?

Just askin'....

This grand experiment of the USA is over.<

I seem to remember when the evil "BIRTHERS" kept raising the Constitutional question, NO ONE had any "standing". So where would such questioning go on this issue - who would have standing to question the oath to uphold or ignore their oaths that they take? Certainly NOT "WE THE PEOPLE".

Congressman Hare-brain is the modern democrat. the law does not matter, only rulings by judges matter. if those opposed to the law do not have money to buy a judge then he can have his tyrany of the unconstitutional.

In fact they count on the fact that law schools spin to the left and since most judges are former government lawyers then his left wing pro government spin is protected as if there is no third branch of government.
