PROM princess or porn queen? This prom dress is so skimpy, even the designer's CEO wouldn't let his teenage daughter wear it. But the dangerously revealing gown, prominently advertised in Seventeen Prom, YM Prom and Teen Prom, and on sale in a Midtown shop, is a top seller for the company this season. "I was shocked when I first saw it, but now it's one of our top 20 dresses nationwide," says Nick Yeh, the CEO of Xcite, the Stafford, Texas, company that designed the dress and some 200 other styles this season. "I have a 15-year-old daughter and, no,...

The latest example of TV network self-censorship because of FCC (news - web sites) concerns came a few weeks ago during a rerun of a "Family Guy" cartoon. Fox electronically blurred a character's posterior, even though the image was seen five years ago when the episode originally aired. "We...

NEW YORK -- NBC has turned over tapes of the opening ceremony of the Athens Olympics to the Federal Communications Commission after an indecency complaint, an industry source told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. An FCC spokesman declined comment Friday when contacted by the AP. It is not clear what part of the ceremony drew a complaint or who complained -- or even if there was more than one. The FCC automatically reviews a broadcast when it receives complaints.

Dateline San Francisco November 20, 2004 The California Supreme Court has refused to hear the issue regarding the adoption agency in San Francisco that has established a quota for adoptions by gay couples. THE SECULAR CASE AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE Adam Kolasinksi Homosexual relationships do nothing to serve the state interest of propagating society, so there is no reason to grant them the costly benefits of marriage. The Tech, Volume 124, Number 5 Tuesday, February 17, 2004 The debate over whether the state ought to recognize gay marriages has thus far focused on the issue as one of civil rights. Such a treatment is erroneous because state recognition of marriage is not a universal right. States regulate marriage in many ways besides denying men the right to marry men, and women the right...

You know what, I think its time for each and every one of us to get down on our scrawny unemployed knees and thank god for George Bush. The man has just gone and rescued the fragile moral fiber of this country once again. Can I get a Hallelujah? Only through the grace of Dubyah's faith have we finally been able to identify the fresh cancer poised to eat through the intestines of the American belly. And that toxic threat is gay marriage. It's hard to imagine anything more subversive than two people of the same sex hugging and kissing...

When is the C of E going to realise that homosexuality is now more popular in Britain than Christianity? In the raft of things I don't understand about the disgraceful treatment of Canon Jeffrey John, someone explain to me this. The meeting at Lambeth Palace in which it was decided that Canon John would affect to stand down from the Reading bishopric of his own free will (even though free will had nothing to do with it - indeed, given the axiomatic role of free will in the Christian doctrine, you would have thought this fiction alone violated the express...

I learned the truth at 17 Our high school senior correspondent reaches a crossroads: If he takes another guy to the prom, is he doing it for himself, or just to fulfill an image of “gay teen” that’s taking over his life? By Paul Chandler An Advocate.com exclusive posted April 9, 2003 A few weeks ago I was contemplating taking out an ad that read, “Emergency! Need gay male prom date. Respond immediately.” Every time spring rolls in, prom fever hits. Who am I going to go with? Where do we go to eat? What about afterward? Do we really...

(CNSNews.com) - Patricia Ireland, the woman who presided over the National Organization for Women (NOW) for a decade and whose "major contributions included organizing NOW activists to defend women's access to abortion," has been chosen as the new chief executive officer of the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA). The appointment, confirmed by CNSNews.com, immediately drew criticism from cultural conservatives. Andrea Lafferty, executive director of the Traditional Values Coalition, called the Ireland appointment "disgusting," pointing to reports that Ireland had carried on a homosexual relationship in Washington, D.C., while remaining married to her husband, who was living in Florida. "Here's a...
