East Haven-WTNH, Oct. 22, 2004 7:30 AM ) _ A morning wedding in East Haven may cause some controversy later today. A same-sex couple is saying "I do" in front of a billboard denouncing gay marriage.
This wedding is not being held at your usual location. Today Florance Amore will marry her partner Joanie Miller in East Haven underneath two political billboards against gay marriage.
Presiding over the ceremony will be KC101's Vinnie Penn, who is an Ordained Minister
The vows will be said under billboards such as the one that says "Protect Marriage Vote McCann.' Dan McCann is challenging 9-term incumbent State Representative Mike Lawlor.
"I'm standing in front of the camera telling the people of East Haven your representative is trying to do this - introduce same sex marriage into Connecticut and you need to know about it." says McCann.
McCann's hope is that his marriage views will score high against Lawlor's.
"Civil Unions, Domestic Partners- I could support any of those. I think it's important we resolve this as soon as possible." says Lawlor.
The billboards are funded by the Family Institute of Connecticut, and they are the group that's against same sex marriage.
Penn says he noticed there was no balance of the other view point on this corner so he thought he'd create some.
"If we can make this statement it's almost like well.. this is how seriously we take that statement." says Penn.
The live marriage will be broadcast on the KC101 morning show between 7:30 and 8AM.
Which one is the blushing bride?
How touching. Are they having the reception at the AIDS clinic?
Pretty sad.
It's pretty sad that marriage appears to be more about sticking a finger in the eye of their political opponents than it is about their own love for each other. Sounds like these two are driven by all the wrong reasons.
the anti-blessing.
SO? Who cares!
Ever notice they usually try to do this kind of thing with TWO WOMEN so it's less threatening to the average viewer? I mean, two ugly, spinsterish women is the usual approach, and you feel sympathetic toward them because, hey, they're ugly and spinsterish, and now they've just found love, right? But they never get the mustachio'd leather boys, the flaming, hysterical sissy-queens, the coiffured, femmy drag queens. That's life, I guess, in soundbite city.
oh who cares....Im sick of having to frame the thought of "lesiban" couples in my mind to read an article on them....ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

Let me or little jeremiah know if you want on or off the homosexual agenda ping list.
More proof that the issue has nothing to do with marriage and the "rights" extended to married couples. Instead it has everything to do with attention and the blatent advertising of their sexual deviations!
How romantic. </sarcasm>
Lesbians have a similar risk of HIV as the ambient heterosexual population.
Proving once again that this perversion has nothing to do with love, but is equal parts lust and lust for attention.
Why did this story even make the news? Stupid, I say.
It's true HIV is much more common among homosexual men then homosexual women (and the general populace). In Sodomy: A Public Health Risk, among other issues, the breakdown of STDs between homosexual men and homosexual women can be found.
Well, then. I guess your input is what's most important here.
Hopefully, pictures of these two lesbos in their illegal marriage in front of the billboard will be all over every state where the voters can say "Hell No to Gay Farces pretending to be Marriages!".
Dang. I only read the headline. Reception at Carpet World following ceremony!
