For free speech advocates, there are few images more chilling than that of Nina Jankowicz singing her now-infamous tune as “the Mary Poppins of Disinformation.” The woman who would become known as the “Disinformation Czar” sang a cheerful TikTok parody of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” to rally people to the cause of censorship. When the press caught wind of President Biden’s plan to appoint Jankowicz as head of the Department of Homeland Security’s new “disinformation board,” Fox News said she “intended to censor Americans’ speech.” The backlash was swift. Plans for the board were suspended, and Jankowicz resigned in 2022. She then sued...

The Mary Poppins of misinformation has started a new band outside the Department of Homeland Security, and this department of tortured poets is testing fresh material about the bad blood stemming from her brief leadership of the slightly longer-lived Disinformation Governance Board. Nina Jankowicz, whose Hunter Biden laptop trutherism and chirpy songs about "information laundering" immediately made the DHS board a punch line, cofounded a nonprofit watchdog this month with former feds, D.C. think tankers and social media executives whose mission is "increasing the cost of lies that undermine our democracy." She introduced the American Sunlight Project in a statement...

he Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency outsourced its "censorship operation" to a nonprofit it funded following a First Amendment lawsuit by Louisiana and Missouri attorneys general, "implicitly admitting that its censorship activities are unconstitutional," according to an interim staff report by House Judiciary Committee Republicans shared with Just the News. CISA also wanted to use the Center for Internet Security, which operates the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) and Elections Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center (EI-ISAC), as its "mouthpiece" to obfuscate its own role in censorship, the report says. It cites spring 2022...

Nina Jankowicz, the former head of the Department of Homeland Security’s now disbanded Disinformation Governance Board, filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News on Wednesday, weeks after the network settled with Dominion Voting Systems. “Fox’s employee hosts and commentators derided and lied about Jankowicz on repeat — and continue to do so even today, the lawsuit states. “Several of these falsehoods stand out as especially destructive — and directly contrary to available, verifiable evidence." The coverage led to "immediate online harassment and threats, which continue even now," according to the suit. Ms. Jankowicz, a prominent specialist in Russian disinformation and...

The former head of President Joe Biden’s defunct Orwellian Disinformation Governance Board found a new gig by registering as a foreign agent to fight so-called “disinformation." Former DGB Executive Director Nina Jankowicz said in a Nov. 18 “foreign agents” filing with the Department of Justice that she would be hired as a “disinformation expert” with the U.K.-based Centre for Information Resilience. Jankowicz’ role involves acting as an “ambassador for CIR on the Hill, within the Federal Government, media, among tech companies / Silicon Valley, on ‘K Street’, and among potential philanthropic organisations.” It appears the self-proclaimed “Mary Poppins of disinformation”...

House Democrats are pushing to create a new senior official at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) who would monitor and respond to public "misinformation" about abortion access and other reproductive and sexual health services. Legislation from Rep. Nikema Williams, D-Ga., and four other Democrats would establish a new "reproductive and sexual health" official within HHS, and policing "misinformation" on abortion would be part of the job. The official would "collect information regarding, and to address, reproductive and sexual health misinformation being disseminated to the public," according to the bill text. Democrats have been dabbling with the idea...

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas put the final kibosh on his disinformation governance board on Wednesday, after a review he ordered came back with a firm recommendation that the idea was a stinker. The board had been on hold since May, when Mr. Mayorkas hit pause after a botched rollout that saw critics accusing him of Orwellian attempts to silence people who had competing views on issues of the day. Mr. Mayorkas had insisted that wasn’t his goal. But the pick of Nina Jankowicz, who had a history of spreading dodgy information, to lead the board, as well as revelations...

The Department of Homeland Security has officially terminated its Orwellian plans for a Disinformation Governance Board. The action follows MRC Free Speech America, in conjunction with MRC Business, exposing the DGB’s leftist bias — including its connections to liberal billionaire George Soros. The DHS announced in an Aug. 24 press release that Homeland Security Secretary Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas terminated the Disinformation Governance Board and rescinded its charter Thursday after a recommendation from the Homeland Security Advisory Council. This development follows the DGB pausing operations after mass public backlash. MRC Business was the first to expose how the DGB’s former co-chair,...

“You tried to create a censorship board inside a law enforcement agency of the federal government,” Posobiec continued, “And I took it down. We don’t do that in the United States of America.” In late May Jankowicz publicly named Posobiec as the person she most singularly blames for her downfall and the Ministry of Truth‘s evisceration. In her first interview since the board’s end, Jankowicz told MSNBC host Chris Hayes that her resignation was the result of a grandiose conspiracy or “coordinating mechanism” as “all these sensationalized narratives about what people thought the board was going to do was completely...

Jankowicz was scrutinized for her history of spreading misinformation, such as a story denying the existence of the Hunter Biden laptop. According to critics, DHS’ new board resembled George Orwell’s ‘Ministry of Truth’ from 1984 and was designed to silence conservative voices. It is clear from the novel that the ministry was used to spread information – and that it was able to rewrite the history of a fictional world in order to change the facts. After just a few weeks, the DHS shut down the board for a “pause”, and its head, Jankowicz, resigned.

The triggered liberals at The New York Times are having a cow over fears that Washington, D.C., won’t be able to install a censorship apparatus to root out so-called “disinformation.” The Times published a whiny story headlined: “Disinformation Has Become Another Untouchable Problem in Washington.” The piece, plastered with a photo of a stone-faced former Disinformation Governance Board (DGB) Director Nina Jankowicz, whined that Biden’s Ministry of Truth “was dismantled — put on ‘pause,’ officially — undone in part by forces it was meant to combat, including distortions of the board’s intent and powers.” The Times has tried for weeks...

Former Disinformation Governance Board leader Nina Jankowicz is worried Americans face a bleak future after the Department of Homeland Security reportedly “paused” their effort. “The problem is there are very real national security issues here, and not being able to talk about this in a mature way is a real disservice to the country,” Jankowicz told the New York Times in an interview published Wednesday. Jankowicz criticized Republicans and conservative activists after resigning three weeks after she announced her new position as the head of a Disinformation Governance Board on social media.

Republican Sens. Josh Hawley of Missouri and Charles Grassley of Iowa released a series of documents on Wednesday showing that the Biden administration’s Disinformation Governance Board was intended to have a domestic focus, despite promises from administration officials. Top Biden administration officials, most notably Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, repeatedly claimed that the board would focus on disinformation pushed by foreign actors. However, the documents released by Hawley and Grassley reveal that the board intended to target alleged disinformation by topic, not by national origin. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) “paused” the board in May before it began operations,...

Nina Jankowicz, the self-proclaimed “Mary Poppins of Disinformation” who was up until recently supposed to become the chief of Joe Biden’s Orwellian and ominous Disinformation Governance Board, can’t seem to stop herself from stepping on rakes. She has complained, now that the Board has been “paused,” that the Board itself was a victim of “disinformation,” which casts into question how effective it could possibly have ever been, if Jankowicz couldn’t even manage to counter false statements about what it was supposed to be doing. On Monday, she made matters even worse by remarking off-handedly that the Board was meant to...

VIDEOThe Gods of Comedy blessed us with the voice of former Disinformation Czar Nina Jankowicz whose songs were so cringeworthy that they helped to cause her to be quickly laughed out of office. Among the cringe songs in this album is one you have probably never heard that she performed at a show from way back in 2011. So listen, enjoy, and above all... LAUGH!

Three weeks: That's how long it took for the Department of Homeland Security to go from announcing a board intended to combat disinformation to suspending it. In those three weeks, both the Disinformation Governance Board and its leader, Nina Jankowicz, came under relentless and sometimes vicious attack from right-wing media and Republican lawmakers. DHS initially shared few details about the board's function and purview, leading to speculation and fears it would police online speech. As the board's public face, Jankowicz became a lighting rod. A well-regarded authority in online disinformation, who has studied Russian information operations and advised governments including...

Records suggest that the former darling of the Disinformation Governance Board Nina Jankowicz was one of President Joe Biden’s donors. Federal Election Commission records show that Jankowicz donated at least $380 to Biden’s campaign and $280 to the Biden Victory Fund during the 2020 electoral cycle. The most recent donation records suggest she contributed to Biden’s election efforts on Oct. 10, 2020, four days before release of the now-verified New York Post Hunter Biden laptop bombshell, and 12 days before she parroted leftist talking points that the Hunter story was part of “a Russian influence op.” The news comes after...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Nina Jankowicz, like so many millennials, was excited to share a social media post announcing her new job on Twitter late last month when she was named executive director for a new disinformation board established by the Department of Homeland Security. But instead of well-wishes, Jankowicz’s tweet set off a torrent of sexist profanities across social media and menacing emails filled with rape or death threats that continue to follow her even after she resigned from that new job on Wednesday morning following the disastrous rollout of the program. It’s a familiar scenario. A crush of online...

The New York Times had a cow over the apparent demise of President Joe Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board and painted it as a victim of — wait for it — disinformation. Times “veteran” foreign and national security correspondent Steven Lee Meyers published an asinine story headlined: “A Panel to Combat Disinformation Becomes a Victim of It.” Meyers mourned that the Department of Homeland Security was “suspending the work” of the DGB “intended to combat disinformation after what the department described as a deliberate disinformation campaign.” According to Meyers’ lament, “the fiercest denunciations came from the right,” which included correct characterizations...
