    Ahmed N. Dashti, 24, a UMKC student indicted by a federal grand jury for alleged counterfeiting, was arraigned Jan. 27. Dashti was released on a $100,000 cash deposit, according to Jim Cross, public affairs officer for the U.S. Attorney's Office. Dashti faces charges of smuggling goods into the United States and dealing in counterfeit obligations or securities.
