A mechanic was hit with criminal charges this week in the death of his coworker who was crushed by an elevator that plunged six stories in a Bronx apartment building two years ago. Peter Milatz, 67, is accused of disregarding safety protocols that could have avoided the disaster which killed 25-year-old apprentice mechanic Joseph Rosa on Feb. 18, 2021, prosecutors said Tuesday. “Jobs in this field can be extremely dangerous, and workers must be protected,” Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark said in a statement. “If safety measures had been followed, the victim would still be alive today.”

A Michigan man who left his car at a dealership for an oil change and tire rotation is being sued after his vehicle was involved in the death of one of the dealership's employees. Sergio Enrique Diaz-Navarro took his red 2019 Wrangler to a Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership on March 13, 2020, and 19-year-old lube technician Daniel Thompson worked on the car. After the service was complete, the vehicle "lurched forward" as the young employee attempted to operate it, crushing 42-year-old mechanic Jeffrey Hawkins against a cabinet, court records show.

96 Camry V6, 166k miles, engine = 1MZFE (I think) Flushed engine, changed oil, got a low oil-pressure light, pulled over. Dropped oil pan, cleared out a TON of oil boogers that were in the pan, YIKES..! Also swished the oil pick-up tube around in some flush solution, cleared the screen. Drove around a week and it was FINE..! Then oil pressure light returned :( Swapped out the oil pressure sender switch (don't have the oil pressure tester gauge but I ordered one) and the oil pressure light did come with the new switch.
