The cornerstone of Gov. Mitt Romney's new universal health care law for Massachusetts is a program titled "Commonwealth Care", a plan for thousands of low-income people who could not afford regular health insurance, funded by the taxpayers. WASHINGTON - Former Sen. Jim Talent, R-Mo., is backing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's bid for the Republican presidential nomination, Romney announced in a statement Thursday. Talent will serve as domestic policy task force chairman for Romney's presidential exploratory committee. Talent will oversee all domestic policy development in that position.
