HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - The Huntington Beach City Council voted Wednesday to approve a declaration to ban universal mask and COVID-19 vaccine mandates in the city.

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) said Tuesday he will introduce legislation dubbed the “Freedom to Breathe Act” which will effectively ban federal mask mandates. The act would prohibit President Joe Biden and federal agencies from implementing face mask requirements requiring submission from public transit passengers or students in schools. “The bill, if passed into law, would prevent the reimposition of federal mask mandates in the United States — particularly in public schools and on airplanes and public transportation systems. It would only apply through the end of 2024.

Students and staff in one class at a public school in Montgomery County, Maryland, are being told that they must wear masks for the next 10 days after three “or more” people tested positive for COVID-19. In a letter sent home to parents on Tuesday, Rosemary Hills Elementary School principal Rebecca Irwin Kennedy wrote that KN95 masks would be distributed and students and staff in “identified classes or activities” will be required to mask up while in school for the next 10 days “except when eating or drinking.” The letter states that after a 10-day period, “masks will become optional...

New York state will provide COVID-19 tests and masks in school districts amid a recent spike in cases over the summer, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) announced Tuesday. The announcement also comes after the recent discovery of the BA.2.86 subvariant in New York City’s sewage, according to city officials. Hochul’s office Wednesday said the state will conduct outreach to the Education Department and Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) to determine each district’s needs for the test kits and masks, including both N95 and KN95 masks. “Thanks to the hard work of New York schools, teachers, and parents, we...

School is back across the country, so let's survey the landscape of both higher and lower education. At the University of Michigan, students who test positive for COVID are being forced into off-campus quarantine -- like something out of 2021. They may not attend classes, and they may not remain in their dorm rooms, "even if they are in a single room." Dr. Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford writes, "students testing covid positive must leave their dorms for 5 days & live in the community. A hotel room or a relative's house is ok. This cruel policy is designed to spread...

VIDEORemember how INSANE liberals went over enforcing mask mandates Unfortunately for them recent rigorous scientific studies on the efficacy of masks show they have ZERO effect on stopping the transmission of COVID. And that includes the much vaunted N-95 masks. No surprise because attempting to stop the flow of a virus with a mask is like aiming a water hose at a chain link fence and expecting it to prevent water from getting through. Here are a few examples of just how CRAZY liberals went in their hysteria over enforcing the mask mandates that had NO effect on stopping the...

Fauci slammed for admitting there's a lack of evidence in favor of mask wearing A study in the UK found 'just no evidence that they - masks - make any difference' Fauci backtracked and said that the data is 'less strong' to show masks worked Dr Anthony Fauci has been branded a 'fraud' and a 'liar' after admitting there is now a lack of evidence to suggest wearing a mask helped stop the spread of COVID. 'When you're talking about the effect on the epidemic or the pandemic as a whole, the data are less strong,' Fauci admitted to CNN's...

Health officials in California recently spoke about the possible return of mask mandates in the state amid a slight uptick in COVID-19 cases. On Thursday, officials with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health held a press conference to speak about a rise in new COVID-19 cases, saying that over the past week cases have doubled. During the press conference, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer was asked about the potential return to mask mandates and if the county would ever make them mandatory again. "'Ever' is not a word I'm comfortable with. There's...

Anthony Fauci has sparked a backlash from politicians and commentators after saying that wearing face masks protects individuals from spreading coronavirus, but that there was inconclusive evidence to suggest it prevented a pandemic spiraling at a whole population level. The former chief medical adviser to the president, who was regularly the face of the government's response to the pandemic, told CNN on Saturday that "an individual protecting themselves or protecting them from spreading it, there is no doubt that masks work," amid a spike in infections of the virus and speculation that fresh COVID restrictions could be on the horizon....

VIDEOThe FRAUDSTER known as Anthony Fauci is all for hyping that he is THE Science and that Science must be rigorously followed at all times EXCEPT when it is inconvenient to either government control or to lining Fauci's sacred wallet. Watch as Fauci tries to slither away from THE Science of "the most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of studies conducted on the efficacy of masks" which has revealed that masks DON'T work.

Dr. Anthony Fauci flip-flopped once again on masking as a means to tamp down COVID-19 as he admitted that a wide-ranging study found that face masks made no difference in the course of the pandemic. “I am concerned that people will not abide by recommendations,” Fauci told CNN’s Michael Smerconish Saturday in a segment flagging a rise in COVID cases nationwide. Federal agencies and state and local governments decreed onerous mask mandates for airplanes, schools, public transit, restaurants, workplaces and more starting in 2020 — thanks largely to Fauci, the public face of the nation’s official COVID response. As the...

New York health officials are advising people to wear masks when in crowded public areas, as coronavirus cases are expected to spike following Labor Day weekend. While no official social distancing or mask restrictions were set in place, New York City health commissioner Dr. Ashwin Vasan told the Daily Mail that people should follow precautions when celebrating the end of summer, as the city’s hospitalization rate for the coronavirus rose by five percent this week compared to the previous week; 502 patients infected with the virus were admitted to hospitals.

A tenured professor fired less than a month after seeking the scientific evidence behind her public university's COVID-19 policies and challenging the legality of its vaccine mandate will get to continue her First Amendment retaliation lawsuit against the University of Maine System. Patricia Griffin has sufficiently alleged "the subject matter of her speech pertained to a matter of great public concern and was outside the scope of her duties as a professor of marketing" at the University of Southern Maine, U.S. District Judge Jon Levy ruled last month, clearing the way for trial on that issue while dismissing Griffin's other...

National Public Radio was in a frenzy the other morning but it felt like the movie Groundhog Day: they were spreading tremendous alarm about the rise of Covid cases. We have to stop the spread, the announcer said, and that’s why masks are coming back to classrooms. However, they added, relief is on the way in the form of a new vaccine. Rinse, repeat — as the shampoo bottles say. This line of thinking — stop the spread to reduce strain on hospitals, mask up, and so on — is being echoed by all major media organs. Leading the way...

An uptick in Covid cases and hospitalizations in the U.S., and the emergence of new variants of the virus, are prompting questions about whether Americans should start masking up again. One thing's for sure: People infected with Covid should wear masks around others to prevent the spread of the virus. For those not infected, the decision to mask depends on a few things. That includes your personal risk level, Covid rates in your region and who you might make contact with, public health experts said.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has responded to speculation that the agency could be bringing back mask mandates on public transportation or in federal officials. A spokesperson for the CDC told The Epoch Times on Aug. 29 that COVID-19 hospital admission levels "are currently low for more than 96 percent" of the United States, but that the agency recommended that transportation workers, travelers, passengers, and others get the COVID-19 vaccine "before they travel." "Anyone may choose to wear a mask in crowded or poorly ventilated indoor areas, including on public transportation and in transportation hubs at...

the incredible dumbing down of the American public ... Masks ... Nothing sums up the dumbing down of America better than the image of a person driving alone in his car, all masked up. Vaccines.. The COVID vaccines were — and remain — experimental. First we were told that if you take the vax, you can't get COVID. That was wrong. Then we were told that if you take the vax and a booster, you can't get or transmit COVID. That was wrong. Then we were told that if you get double-boosted, you'll be protected from all future variants. That...

Mask mandates re-emerge amid COVID uptick Several masking requirements have popped up around the country in recent weeks. But despite the uptick in COVID-19 cases, don’t expect another federal mandate. A few schools, hospitals and businesses scattered around the country have brought back masking requirements in response to spikes in COVID-19 cases in their regions. Morris Brown College in Atlanta issued a two-week, precautionary mask mandate for its students and employees despite no cases being detected on campus yet. The move was informed by some positive cases detected around the Atlanta University Center, a consortium of four historically Black colleges...

A 'we will not comply' movement is slowly formulating across social media, spurred by Donald Trump's renewed focus on mask mandates and COVID-affiliated lockdowns that he initiated at the pandemic's inception. Trump, in a video posted Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter, vowed to reject any "fearmongering" of new coronavirus variants and if elected president pledged to cut federal funding for entities like schools and airlines that follow such protocols. Trump was the individual who set the original mandates and lockdowns in motion, however, when coronavirus cases escalated exponentially starting in March 2020. At the time, he urged individuals to avoid...

Almost a third of Americans are still worried about the threat of Covid, a survey suggests. When asked by YouGov, 'How worried are you about getting Covid-19?', 24 percent of adults said they were 'somewhat worried', while seven percent said they were 'very worried.' The answers — given between August 17 and August 21 — are down slightly from April 2022, when 45 percent said 'somewhat worried' and 13 percent said 'very worried'. The poll was conducted amid a slight upswing in Covid rates and the rise of two highly mutated variants — EG.5, or Eris, and BA.2.86, or Pirola....
