  • Biden Says High-Speed Rail Will Get Millions of Cars Off the Road. That's Malarkey. This is what happens when you think all of America looks like the Acela corridor.

In the midst of Sunday's presidential debate between Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, Biden blurted out that his campaign's high-speed rail plan would take "millions of automobiles off the road." This is the second debate in which the former vice president brought up the belief that bullet trains will get people out of their cars. This is, to put it mildly, extremely unlikely. Biden's campaign site calls for "the construction of an end-to-end high speed rail system that will connect the coasts, unlocking new, affordable access for every American." Would bullet trains passing through major cities scattered across the U.S....

We are in trouble in America because we have millions of uneducated young people who think they are "woke" – who believe America is basically evil, and always has been. If the New York Times gets its way, there will be more such Americans. The Times has initiated, along with the Pulitzer Center, something called the 1619 Project. 1619 was the infamous year in which slavery was introduced into Jamestown, and thus, into America. This curriculum is now being peddled to school districts in every state of the union. The idea of the 1619 Project is that without the slaves,...

presidential candidate Joe Biden suggested that he would consider former failed Republican presidential candidate Jeb! [sic] Bush as his vice presidential running mate. “That son-of-a-gun Bloomberg ain’t gonna out-loser ol’ Joe Biden,” Mr. Biden told reporters. “He thinks he can show me up by winning this thing even with Hillary on the ticket. Well, Jiminy Cricket, I can win this nomination riding side-saddle with Jeb Bush, fella!” When asked about the many gaffes that Mr. Bush committed on the campaign trail in 2016 when he opposed Donald Trump, Mr. Biden scoffed: “Oh jumpin’ Jehoshaphat, he didn’t mess up as much...

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign issued a memo Monday warning journalists not to spread debunked claims about the former vice president’s push to remove a corrupt prosecutor in Ukraine. The memo comes just days ahead of the Senate impeachment trial, during which Republicans are likely to push the theory as they seek to defend President Trump. The Biden campaign said Trump’s efforts to spread the theory is the reason the president is being impeached and said it would be “malpractice” for journalists to reference the allegations without also saying that they’ve been debunked, according to a copy of the memo obtained...

Former Vice President Joe Biden's campaign denied a report on Wednesday that Biden has signaled he would only serve one term in the White House if elected in 2020. "Lots of chatter out there on this so just want to be crystal clear: this is not a conversation our campaign is having and not something VP Biden is thinking about," Biden's deputy campaign manager and communications director, Kate Bedingfield, said in a tweet. Politico reported on Wednesday that four people who speak regularly with the former vice president said it was unlikely that he would run for reelection in 2024...

Joe Biden asserted that he never heard worries that his son Hunter Biden's role on a Ukrainian gas company could create a conflict of interest. "Nobody warned me about a potential conflict of interest," Biden said Friday in an interview with NPR. "I never, never heard that once at all." Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company, while his father was vice president and working on Ukrainian policy. President Trump asked the Ukrainian president this year to investigate the Bidens, prompting Democrats to launch impeachment proceedings against Trump. George Kent, a top State Department official,...

On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks argued 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden had “one of the best weeks of the campaign” and Biden’s confrontation with a voter in Iowa “showed vigor, showed toughness,” and gave Biden control of the news cycle. Brooks stated, “I do think Joe Biden had a — one of the best weeks of the campaign. He had an ad mocking…President Trump…and then he went after that voter. Which I think showed vigor, showed toughness, showed he’s doing well, and I think also allowed him to control the news...

Former Vice-President Joe Biden predicted that governing the country once he is elected president "may be difficult. The runaway prosperity that Trump has embroiled the country in will be hard to undo. Business investment plans predicated on low taxes and looser regulations will see the handwriting on the wall after the votes are counted and I've won. They'll rush to move money outside our borders and start laying off workers before I can be inaugurated and stop them with an Executive Order." "Thankfully, there is a bright side to an economic recession," Biden argued. "There'll be less pollution, not only...

Elections are not mysterious events subject to the whimsy of unpredictable candidates and voters. They’re actually highly predictable, with a set of variables that influence outcomes in familiar ways. Because of that, we can say, with reasonable confidence, that a Republican will be moving into the White House in 2017.

LifeWay Christian Stores has come under fire for selling a book based on a boy who claimed he visited heaven and who is now saying that the story is false. The book, titled The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven, has been available since last year and tells the story of 6-year-old Alex Malarkey who suffered a horrific car accident in 2004. The crash paralyzed Alex and it was unlikely he'd survive after slipping into a coma. He awoke two months later and claimed that angels took him through the gates of heaven to meet Jesus. Malarkey addressed the validity...

Tyndale House, a major Christian publisher, has announced that it will stop selling “The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven,” by Alex Malarkey and his father, Kevin Malarkey. The best-selling book, first published in 2010, purports to describe what Alex experienced while he lay in a coma after a car accident when he was 6 years old. The coma lasted two months, and his injuries left him paralyzed, but the subsequent spiritual memoir – with its assuring description of “miracles, angels, and life beyond This World” – became part of a popular genre of “heavenly tourism.” Earlier this week, Alex...

Nearly five years after it hit bestseller lists, a book that purported to be a six-year-old boy's story of visiting angels and heaven after suffering a bad car crash is being pulled from shelves. The young man at the center of The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven, Alex Malarkey, said this week that the story was all made up. "I did not die. I did not go to Heaven," Alex Malarkey wrote. He continued, "I said I went to heaven because I thought it would get me attention. When I made the claims that I did, I had never...

In March of last year, President Obama explained the military action taken in Libya by saying it was in the national interest to go in and prevent further massacres from occurring there. So why doesn’t the same logic apply in Syria? Vice President Biden. VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN: It’s a different country. It’s a different country. It is five times as large geographically. DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) — At odds early and often, Joe Biden and Republican Paul Ryan squabbled over the economy, taxes, Medicare and more Thursday night in a contentious, interruption-filled debate. "That is a bunch of malarkey," the vice president retorted after a particularly tough Ryan attack on the administration's foreign policy. "I know you're under a lot of duress to make up for lost ground, but I think people would be better served if we don't interrupt each other," Ryan said later to his rival, referring to Democratic pressure on Biden to make up for President Barack Obama's listless performance...

I understand Barack Obama. It is not always easy, but I do. I can even relate to him. Of course, we weren't supposed to need to. He was supposed to be above that. He was never supposed to be an everyman, and never pretended to be. He transcended beer tests, barbecue tests, and the rest — the tests of whether he was "likable" enough as a politician. It didn't matter whether I wanted to have a beer with him or not, and nobody asked. He was Barack Obama. What he represented was much larger than any individual, even himself. It...
