These are strange days in the USA… The Bears are in first place in the NFC North and a pipsqueak posing as Thomas Magnum is trespassing on the grounds of the Robin Masters Estate in Hawaii. And, it’s not Mac… If that wasn’t bad enough, a 100 lb. chick in yoga pants is masquerading as Higgins. Welcome to the dystopian world of the new, 2018 version of Magnum, P.I. The new Magnum, P.I. is a testament to not only how bad Hollywood is now, but how completely upside down society is. In 2018 America, aka America 180; right is left,...

[Snip] It wasn’t as solid of a night for CBS, though. The premiere of the final season of “The Big Bang Theory” scored only a 2.4 in the demo, down around 40% from its premiere last year and from the 2.7 average of its previous season. “Young Sheldon” (1.7) suffered an even greater year-to-year drop, falling 2.1 points from its series premiere and also down from its first season average (2.2). The series premiere of “Magnum P.I.” fell 0.5 from its “Young Sheldon” lead-in, and scored a low 1.2 in the 9 p.m. hour, while “Bull” returned to a 0.9...

“Oh my God Magnum!” Another reboot is coming to CBS this fall and my first reaction was Sergeant Major Jonathan Quayle Higgins’ famous expletive, “Oh, my God Magnum!” CBS is attempting to resurrect one of the greatest character driven TV shows of all time, Magnum P.I., and thrust it into the dystopian, PC-driven, diversity obsessed world called 2018 America. CBS’ first look trailer is like a constantly re-buffering Kafakesque nightmare that seeks to remind us that one; Hollywood has no one left who can write, Hollywood has no one left with any original ideas and Hollywood is run by left...

The new Magnum being a minority..? I sorta expected that. But then Higgins turned out a sassy, hot blonde British female. And then "Higgins" started roundhouse kicking KGB contractors in the jaw, knocking them out. And giving "Magnum" a whole lot of lip. And that's when I got very scared and angry.

HONOLULU (AP) — The house made famous in the "Magnum P.I." TV series has been scheduled for demolition. Hawaii News Now reported Tuesday that a demolition permit was issued last week because the building is in disrepair. The 8,900 square-foot (827-square-meter) Waimanalo mansion was purchased for $8.7 million in 2015 by Marty Nemolitsbitt.

CBS is adding a twist to the classic TV character of Thomas Magnum in his return to television. I hear CBS’ intention is to pursue a non-white actor for the title character in its Magnum P.I reboot, a role originally played by Tom Selleck. Additionally, I hear Lacey in CBS’ reboot of Cagney & Lacey, also is likely to be non-white. The character was written in the pilot script as a woman of color, sources say. In the Emmy-winning original, the title roles were played by Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless. The trio of witches at the center of the...

CBS picked up six pilots for the 2018-2019 season, including reboots of “Cagney and Lacey” and “Magnum P.I.” “Magnum P.I.” is described as an updated version of the original series that follows Thomas Magnum, a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home to Hawaii from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. Tom Selleck played the mustachioed Magnum in the original series. Peter Lenkov, the writer and producer behind current CBS reboots of “Hawaii Five-O” and “MacGyver,” will serve as the writer and executive producer on the new version of the classic 1980s series, which had previously...

Actor John Hillerman died of natural causes Thursday at his home in Houston, Texas, his publicist, Lori De Waal, said. He was 84 years old. Hillerman was best known for his Emmy Award-winning work in the long-running detective series "Magnum, P.I." The stage-trained actor first made an impression as arrogant radio show detective Simon Brimmer on the NBC revival of "Ellery Queen" in 1975.

CBS has shelled out a big pilot production commitment to Magnum P.I., an update of the classic 1980s Tom Selleck series set in Hawaii. It hails from Peter Lenkov, CBS/CBS Studios’ go-to writer for rebooting iconic procedurals who has successfully revived Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver, and Davis Entertainment (The Blacklist). Co-written by Lenkov and fellow Hawaii Five-0 executive producer/showrunner Eric Guggenheim, Magnum P.I. will feature the same central quartet of characters but, instead of four guys, it will consist of three men and a woman, with Higgins (played by John Hillerman) reconceived as Juliet Higgins. CBS/CBS Studios took a similar...

EXCLUSIVE: A famous 1980s title is eyeing a comeback. ABC has nabbed Magnum, a sequel to the classic series Magnum P.I. that starred Tom Selleck, with a script commitment plus substantial penalty. The project, from Leverage creator John Rogers and Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, will keep the fun, action-packed style of the original as it follows Magnum’s daughter, Lily “Tommy” Magnum, who returns to Hawaii to take up the mantle of her father’s PI firm. She and her tribe of friends mix tropical beaches with the seedy underbelly of international crime and modern espionage, even as she tries to unravel...

HONOLULU (AP) — A sprawling beachfront home used in the filming of the 1980s television show "Magnum, P.I." has been sold for $8.7 million. An attorney for President Barack Obama's close friend Marty Nesbitt said Thursday that his client bought the property. Seth Madorsky says Nesbitt didn't have any partners or co-investors in the deal.

The Magnum P.I. episode "Home From The Sea" from season four takes place during the fourth of July, and is generally regarded by many fans as being the best episode of the entire show's run.

I just noticed on the 'Recently Added' list on Hulu, that they have added the first season of Magnum P.I. to their content. I hope they keep adding seasons ala SG-1.

Honolulu- Reports are coming in from Hawaii that a missile launched from parts unknown, possibly North Korea, has landed on the Island of Honolulu and destroyed a room in the states official Department of Records building. The missile used an advanced stealth technology rendering it absolutely invisible to radar and all other forms of early detection or warning. Not even Peter Schiff could have seen this one coming. The missile strike marks the first time that American soil has been struck by a foreign military since December 7, 1941 when Japan attacked a US Naval port at Pearl Harbor and...

George Clooney is being hotly-tipped to play Magnum PI in a new movie. Film bosses believe the handsome star would be perfect as the suave private investigator, played by Tom Selleck in the classic TV show. A source is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "He is a big fan of the original series. The part is his if he wants it." Meanwhile, George - who split from on/off girlfriend Lisa Snowdon last year - recently revealed he thinks 2006 will be the year he settles down. The 44-year-old heartthrob - renowned for keeping his romantic life under...
