Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, a Democrat, was spotted maskless at an event in Washington, D.C., despite pushing for mask mandates in her own state. Brown was a "featured guest" at the LGBTQ Victory Fund’s 30th anniversary gala in D.C. and was caught without a face covering in a photo published by an attendee on Twitter. The Oregon governor’s appearance at the gala coincides with a push for a "permanent" indoor mask mandate in the state.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie supports getting the COVID-19 vaccine, but he thinks President Joe Biden's new mandate for private employers is "on shaky ground" legally. "Working for the government and ordering government workers to have a mandate, there is one thing," Christie said Sunday on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." "Extending that to two-thirds of all the jobs and make it either get vaccinated or not, it's also contradictory logically," Christie said.

Kroger announced Monday that it will be closing two stores in Long Beach, California — a Ralph’s and a Food 4 Less — after the city council voted to require that large grocery store chains pay workers additional “hero pay” of $4 per hour.
