I don’t understand how a city can dictate an employee pay raise when the pay was already the legal minimum wage or higher.

Hero pay, like the minimum wage, is raw, unadulterated fascism. The government interjects itself between the two parties to a contract.

The commies sure come up with interesting, diversionary lingo.

Ok. Make the council pay it from THEIR personal accounts.

My Dad was in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Never made Kroger status though.

This is how they roll. create a problem, wait for it to become a big issue then use it to get votes on the promise of creating a new program to help the starving peasants.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

elected officials should have to pass an exam that, among many other things, indicates that they understand the most basic functioning of economics. ANYONE with a little bit of a brain would understand how this would turn out, yet they still did it.

They will use this ChiCom Plague for anything. They will tell you what businesses can open and which business must remain close. Who can work. How much you have to pay them. Who you can see and where. How many people can gather in one place. And if you can worship.

It has nothing to do with Chinese Communists. Or does it?

As for 'Hero' pay, it is nothing more than wealth redistribution. Government picks who must to money to whom. It is a form of minimum wage. That is one more issue that is in the news more often this past week. Republicans have never made an effective argument against minimum wage and they never abolished minimum wage; even when they controlled the executive and both houses of the legislature. The point of bringing this up? This is the bottom of a slippery slope that people warned you about years ago. Republicans never did anything about it. They are pussies. I will never vote for a Republican again. Not that it matters. My vote does not count.

“I do not feel bad for long beach.”

I was in the ship yards at long beach. It’s a crap hole. I laugh at this. Bring the pain, bring it by the truckload. CA deserves every last bit of pain that comes their way.

My thoughts too. How is this not government interference into private business? ...and at the city council level? Who do these people think they are?

There’s got to be an equal protection lawsuit in this somewhere. All other works who had “essential jobs” get discriminated against?

You two obviously didn't get the memo: They can do anything they want and tell us to do whatever they say because they're Democrats and they're in power.
