Russia's top diplomat has referred to a conversation that allegedly took place between former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and two renowned pranksters, in which they discussed Ukraine and Donald Trump. Russian state media reported how Clinton had been taken in by Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexei Stolyarov. They are more familiarly known as Vovan and Lexus, who have achieved notoriety by duping world figures to speak to them. The Russian duo's targets include Henry Kissinger in July 2023; the former U.S. President George W. Bush in May 2022; and Prince Harry in 2020. Newsweek cannot independently verify the authenticity...

An ER doctor was killed after being mown down by a Lexus and then stabbed to death by the driver in an apparent road rage incident. Dr Michael Mammone, 58, was cycling on the Pacific Coast Highway, California, when he was run over by a white Lexus which sped through a red light at an intersection on Wednesday at around 3pm. The driver of the vehicle, Vanroy Evan Smith, 39, then got out of his car and stabbed the cyclist multiple times in the back, with brave bystanders tackling him to the ground. Witnesses say he was holding a BB...

Michael Bowles’ mother, Eleanor, was his North Star. “I was on my way to visit her for the holidays and got to her a few hours too late,” he said Sunday. He found her dead in the garage of her home in a gated Buckhead community early Saturday evening. Bowles’ death is the second homicide at a Buckhead residence in as many months and comes amid the Atlanta community’s ongoing efforts to turn back a rash of violent crime.

Brands attempt to move upmarket all the time, but few succeed to the degree Lexus did with its first luxury car. I was 9 years old when my father traded in his 1988 Saab 900 Turbo for a new 1991 LS 400. I would invite my fourth-grade classmates over to the house and ask my dad to start the car—you could not believe it was actually running unless you looked at the eerie “ghost” dials. The Lexus was silent. It seemed so soft, so fast and quiet, that it was all that much more unbelievable when I told my friends...

For many buyers whose top priority is a car that won’t break down, the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study is gospel. J.D. Power just released the results of its 2019 Initial Quality Study, and the Korean trio of Genesis, Kia, and Hyundai took the top three spots. Luxury brand Genesis ranked highest, followed by sibling brands Kia and Hyundai. It’s a big win for Genesis which, as a relative newcomer to the luxury segment, needs to build credibility with buyers. The high scores achieved by Kia and Hyundai show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to...

A downturn in China's car market has wrong-footed some of the world's biggest automakers, saddling them with factories they no longer need and that are costly to retool, according to a report from the Dow Jones Newswires supplied to EFE on Tuesday. Ford Motor, Peugeot and Hyundai Motor especially mistimed recent expansions, opening new plants just as the seemingly unstoppable growth of China's auto market went into reverse.

Lexus is the latest automaker to leap into the fray of highly automated driving, announcing that its “Highway Teammate” advanced driver assist system (ADAS) will be available in 2020. The system, which offers “automated driving from entrance ramp to exit ramp on motor-vehicle-only roadways,” is featured as part of the sleek, glowing LS+ concept that Lexus is showing off at the Tokyo auto show this week. Highway Teammate will “enable automated merging, lane changes and diverging, as well as keep a vehicle in its lane and maintain vehicle-to-vehicle distance,” the Toyota-owned brand states. But as far as the types of...

Yesterday well known Russian pair of phone pranksters, Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Alexei Stoliarov), placed a phone call to U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) pretending to be Prime Minister Groisman of Ukraine. They discussed another Russian aggression in state of Limpopo (made up name from well known Russian CHILDREN's book) and installing Putin's right hand marionette as its President by the name of Aibolit (another well known Russian CHILDREN's book character, Dr. Aibolit and loosely translated play on a sound one makes when sick, Dr. OhItHurts!). Maxine Waters agreed this Russian aggression must stop now! She offered help in...

You're going to insist it's fake, because that's what you do, but watch. I’m guessing about half of you are firing up your keyboards and getting ready to type replies that consist solely of “FAKE!!!!!!” because that’s the instinctive reaction whenever a video comes out purporting to show something like this. But remember: This isn’t some fly-by-night outfit claiming to have done the impossible in its garage. This is Lexus, which already has a pretty nice reputation and doesn’t need to beg for attention via fantastical claims it can’t back up. And if you’re going to claim a video’s been...

So I’m on vacation the other day, and I get a text message from my dad saying that he’s returning to the Lexus dealership service department for the second time in a day. This surprised me. My father would never willingly go to an automobile dealership twice in a single day. The man will sometimes go entire years without setting foot in a car dealer. He is, when it comes to cars, my polar opposite: he doesn’t care. He drives 6,000 miles a year and religiously maintains his vehicles at the dealership, documenting every service, every oil change, every fuel...

Yes, we know - it's 2015, the year Marty jumped to in Back to the Future 2 and you still don't have a hoverboard. Right on time, Lexus has presented the latest example from its "Amazing in Motion" series of video spectacles: the Lexus Hoverboard. As you can see in the video after the break, it certainly appears to hover, and smoke, but no one actually hops on the magnetically-levitating device for a ride. Gizmodo heard from the carmaker that this project has been in development over the last 18 months, but couldn't get more specific info on how it...

It's every parent's nightmare, but true: Major U.S. corporations are funding a campaign of sophisticated, psychologically intrusive "gay" indoctrination programs targeting very young children in elementary schools across America. It’s part of a very well-planned and well-funded effort to reach children as young as possible without their parents’ intervention. The national program, called “Welcoming Schools”, skillfully works on the minds of young children in three ways: (1) Introducing the concept of homosexuality to children. (2) Telling them that homosexuality is normal and natural. (3) Telling them that their parents or friends who portray homosexuality in a less than positive way...

"Toyota said Friday that it intends to recall 138,000 Lexus vehicles in the United States to fix faulty engines, in the latest quality problem to afflict the Japanese automaker. The company said flaws in valve springs, a crucial engine component, could make the vehicle stall while in motion."

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Consumer Reports has issued a safety warning on Toyota's 2010 Lexus GX 460 SUV because of an increased rollover risk during a turn. The magazine says it uncovered the problem during routine tests, and is urging car shoppers not to buy the GX 460 until this problem has been remedied. The special designation given to the GX 460 by Consumer Reports -- "Don't Buy: Safety Risk" -- is rarely given by the magazine. The last time it was used was in 2001, on the Mitsubishi Montero Limited. About 5,000 GX 460s have been sold in the...

Auto Safety: As a Toyota Prius with a stuck accelerator races down a California freeway, no one mourns the victims of the fuel economy standards imposed by Congress. Forced into smaller cars, thousands have died. We can barely imagine the panic felt by James Sikes, 61, as his Toyota Prius accelerated uncontrollably while he drove down Interstate 8 in San Diego County. We can imagine the continuation of the grandstanding by the owners of "government motors" as they further browbeat a competitor of government-run GM and Chrysler. We do not minimize the safety issues here that need to be addressed,...

February 8, 2010 Toyota Prius Global Recall Fears Spread To Luxury Lexus Brand Leo Lewis, Asia Business Correspondent Toyota’s imminent global recall of the Prius over problems with the brakes could be expanded to cover a flagship model from the high-end Lexus range, say sources. Toyota is believed to be on the brink of a worldwide recall of its latest model of Prius that could affect as many as 300,000 vehicles. But sources close to the company told The Times that Toyota was also gearing up to warn owners of the Lexus HS250h and Sai hybrid sedan that their cars...

After the U.S. government put out a warning to owners of Toyota and Lexus vehicles about safety problems tied to removable floor mats, the Japanese automaker announced that it will recall 3.8 million vehicles sold since 2004. What you are looking at is the physical representation of Hyundai's will to succeed in the U.S., also known as the 2009 Hyundai Genesis. The Korean automaker's first attempt at a rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan will debut in Detroit next week and arrive on our shores later this year (we think) with a price tag that starts below $30,000. As is Hyundai's way, it will feature power, performance and amenities that belie its little price tag. First, the design. The Genesis sedan has clean lines and uncluttered surfaces that look detailed and, frankly, expensive. Yes, it's derivative. There's a bit of...
