Washington (CNN)—A new CNN/ORC poll finds that although misperceptions about Barack Obama's religious beliefs and background persist, they are not as widespread as some recent polling has suggested. Overall, when asked "where was Obama born, as far as you know?" 80% of adults say they believe Obama was born in the United States, while 20% said that he was born outside the country. So will the GOP and Conservative Inc. concede that joining the Left in ridiculing birthers and actively participating in the cover up of Obama's past was a failing strategy? All this time they could not even bring themselves to ask if Obama was ever a citizen of Indonesia. Will they concede that living in fear of being called racist by Candy Crowley is a losing strategy.
