Five women who lost husbands in the 9/11 attacks are deflecting the media's inquiries following conservative pundit Ann Coulter's comments that the widows are using their grief "to make a political point." Middletown's Kristen Breitweiser said yesterday that the media's obsession with the story, when the country faces more pressing and immediate issues, "is absolutely reprehensible." Coulter, an unapologetic right-wing conservative best known for lambasting liberal thought on talk-radio shows, on television and in books, says in the just published "Godless: The Church of Liberalism" that the widows act "as if the terrorism attacks happened only to them." Coulter gained...

A group of 9/11 widows say they are "horrified" over reports that the 9/11 Commission ignored evidence that the Clinton administration had identified the two 9/11 hijackers who destroyed the World Trade Center as terrorist threats two years before the attack. "We are horrified to learn . . . . that the 9/11 Commission failed to fully investigate all of the facts and circumstances surrounding the 9/11 attacks," the group Sept. 11 Advocates said in a statement late Wednesday. A separate group of 9/11 widows, known as "the Jersey Girls," is also expressing outrage over the 9/11 Commission's decision to...

How do we have an Administration lecturing Newsweek about "journalistic standards"--the failure to get on the record confirmation before printing a story -- when we went to war in Iraq on similar sloppy standards. Anybody remember Curveball? Or have we all forgotten the Senate Intelligence Report on WMD that discusses how our entire Intelligence Community and President Bush were duped by one bad allegedly "crazy" source who provided "dead wrong" intelligence?

(CNSNews.com) - A 9/11 widow who has called the terror attacks a colossal government failure plans to endorse Sen. John F. Kerry for president on Tuesday -- along with four other 9/11 widows, press reports said. The widows were holding a Tuesday afternoon press conference in Washington. We will be speaking from the heart and speaking from our conscience, said Kristin Breitweiser of New Jersey, co-chair of a group called Sept. 11 advocates. Breitweiser and another widow, Monica Gabrielle of Conn., reportedly have agreed to campaign on Kerry's behalf. Ever since the 9/11 attacks, Breitweiser has been deeply immersed in...

Wall Street Journal pundit Dorothy Rabinowitz - who last month penned an acid assault on the "Jersey Girls," four 9/11 widows who've dared to criticize the Bush administration - received some payback yesterday at the hands of "Jersey Girl" Kristin Breitweiser. The 33-year-old widow of portfolio manager Ron Breitweiser, who died in the collapse of the World Trade Center towers, gleefully shared with the Daily News Rabinowitz's intemperate and insulting response to Breitweiser's recent op-ed submission to the Journal enumerating "systemic" problems with government efforts to meet the terrorist threat. In a message meant for Journal deputy editorial page editor...

Relatives of the Sept. 11 victims ripped into Condoleezza Rice yesterday after she insisted the Bush administration had no clue the U.S. would be attacked. "Shame," Terry McGovern, a New Yorker whose mother was killed, yelled at the national security adviser during Rice's testimony before the 9/11 commission. Other relatives ridiculed Rice's assertion that she had no idea that Osama Bin Laden's men would hijack planes and crash them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. "How could she not know that?" asked Kristen Breitweiser, who lost her husband in the attacks. She noted that several similar threats were made,...

Boycott MSNBC and Chris Matthews!!! I was flipping around during the 9/11 coverage, and Chris Matthews on MSNBC had on 4 9/11 widows who were so critical of Bush that I had to scream. No other 9/11 widows with opposing views. Matthews did not ask any tough questions. My jaw dropped when I saw one of the carefully-chosen 9/11 widows say this afternoon that "we know" that John Ashcroft and Willie Brown were warned not to fly on 9/11. My jaw hit the floor when Matthews just sat there and didn't challenge any of this. Here is what NRO wrote...

WASHINGTON, April 8 (Reuters) - Some relatives of Sept. 11 victims responded in anger on Thursday to what they described as the White House's failure to accept responsibility for the 2001 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people. Family members were among those in the crowded hearing room to listen to national security adviser Condoleezza Rice tell the 9-11 commission that bureaucratic structure was to blame for the administration's inability to counter the attacks. "No one wants to take any responsibility. Three thousand people died, and all they want to talk about is structural problems," Bob McIlvaine of Oreland, Pennsylvania, whose...
