Jim Robinson is taking his supporters for a huge ride. Even though he's using this ancient perl/CGI format(that has changed 3 times in 6 years), there's no way in hell it costs $260,000 a year to run FreeRepublic unless Robinson is paying himself and his family at least $225,000 a year. https://secure.freerepublic.com/donate/budget Monthly Expenses Bandwidth $2,700 Technical Services 4,000 Administrative 7,500 Legal Expenses 3,000 Estimated Bank Fees, Insurance, Office Expenses, Maintenance and Repairs, Supplies, Travel, misc. 2,200 $2700 a month for bandwidth? What, he has his own dedicated T1/T3 lines? $48,000 a year for "Technical Services?" You could hire three...

Happy "Columbus Day" Everyone. I don't recall or care what names the left call it. I put the holiday in quotes because for most of us (myself included), today is NOT a holiday. No holiday for me; no holiday for the kitty thread. Time for the weekly picture. Two pictures this week. First the more humorous one. This was found in a recent ZOT thread. It was posted by Admin Moderator and I was pinged to it by MEG33. Let us not forget our brave soldiers still fighting in the Middle East. The thread linked below shows some of these...

Due to the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), the kitty humor thread is posted today. While the owner is busy repenting for his sins (even if he did not commit any), the kitty decides to go on vacation. One of the Houston Freepers (Flyer) spotted him during his recent foray to Hawaii.

Monday morning. WAKE UP. Time for the kitty caption. Once again, w_over_w is the contributor. Two things come to mind with this photo. 1) Back to work day. As we walk out the door, our furry friend feels sorry for us, NOT. 2) This cat is done with picture taking for now and just wants to show-off.

It looks like the California recall election for October 7th is on. Four weeks after that is the typical November 4th municipal elections, and some of those races may result in run-offs. While democrats have been fuming over the last three years about antiquated voting machines, no one has bothered to mention the stations (booths) in which said voting takes place --- until now. This picture courtesy of Allegra from the Houston chapter. One of her cats (I think Finbar) is trying out the new and improved demoCAT voting booth. Looks like plenty of room, lots of privacy, and easy...

I am late with this week's kitty humor thread. I know, I know. HEY, POOP HAPPENS. Don't believe me, go ask your cat. Here is a new picture I found. 3 cats deciding whether mouse should be baked, roasted, bbq, fried, or just eaten "as is".

Tuesday. Long weekend over. BACK TO WORK. Two pictures this week (one classic and one new). First the classic. Many of you have seen this picture before, but you may not know the story behind it. This police dog unit uses a cat marching in front as a final exam. If the dog approaches the cat (or makes barking sounds), the dog fails the examination and is rejected from police service. Here is the new picture. Cat having some fun with one of the dogs who failed said examination. This is why beagels don't make good police dogs.

PetroniDE is late again with this week's kitty thread. How will the ping list respond and how will said response be compared to when he is late with his cat's dinner? At least the US Postal Service is timely with the mail, except when the mail box is "heavily guarded". This week's picture courtesy of martin_fierro.

Sorry I'm late with this week's kitty caption thread. Was extremely busy today and didn't have a chance to post this during lunch. If you don't like that excuse, please provide me with a good one for the next time thread is late. What does kitty do when we are not home? I think this one went to a local casino. Good news, he must have won money. Bad news, he spent it on booze. BAD KITTY.

Happy Monday everyone. Many of my neighbors are happy, since tomorrow, 12 August is the first day of school (nicknamed the second Mother's Day). Time for our weekly kitty humor thread, with W_Over_W providing the picture source.

What does August bring? More humid days? Back to school? That long awaited family vacation? How about FOOTBALL SEASON !!! Who win win Super Bowl XXXVIII? Since the NFL loves parody, it is anybody's guess. We have someone on the Kitty list who is a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals (they asked that name be withheld) and they predict them winners of Super Bowl XXXVIII. They have a brand new offensive line which represents vast improvement over previous editions.

Time for our weekly kitty humor thread. Who is your favorite comic-book superhero? I have a feeling that "Viking Kitty" and "Zot" are the favorites of this kitty. She is angry that Spiderman has been getting more attention. Kitty to Spiderman: "I am your overlord"

Happy Monday Everyone..... Summer going quick. School starts in my Texas locality in just three weeks. Time for our weekly kitty thread. This one courtesy of "MyCatHatesYou". This cat is my kind of PAC (Politically Aware Cat), as he was seen watching the President's State of the Union address. He was even watching it on Fox News. This plank was found among the platform for this "PAC". Mr. President, please loosen restrictions regarding importation and domestic cultivation of catnip. Mr. President, special tax break for Purina please. Mr. President, nevermind Medicare, do something about those eeevil veterinarians.

Japanese toymaker Takara looks set to herald a new age of communication between humans and felines with a device which converts a cat's meows into human speech. The Meowlingual, a gadget which gives cat owners Dr. Dolittle-like powers of discerning their pets' emotions, will be launched in Japan this November, a company spokeswoman told newswire AFP. This announcement comes a year after the firm introduced a similar device--Bowlingual--which translates a dog's woofs into words through voice-pattern recognition. Bowlingual consists of a wireless microphone that is attached to the dog's collar and a terminal which analyzes and matches each bark with a...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York City transit police prowling the subway for scofflaws jailed a month-old kitten this week. "Gizmo," a black and white kitten, and its owner, Angel Melendez, were placed in a city lockup early on Tuesday after an officer cited the 35-year-old subway musician for having an uncaged animal inside the subway system. The incident was the latest example of what critics say is a ticketing blitz designed to help the cash-strapped city. Recently, officials fined a man for sitting on a milk crate and ticketed a woman for talking loudly to her neighbour. Officials deny...

Hello Monday. Keeping my on the Gulf of Mexico (T.S. Claudette heading toward Houston). Time for our weekly kitty humor thread. This week's picture courtesy of W_Over_W. You've seen one picture of a cat curled up in the sink, you've seen them all. Picture still too cute to pass up.

Happy Monday everyone. This is an especially happy Monday for me. I am on vacation. Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah - Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah. Vacation or not, it is time for this week's kitty humor thread, for those of you slaving away at the computer. Here is a technique to make sure your kitty behaves (bath, pill, no poo-poo on the carpet, clawing, etc.). This technique works, just ask Ms. Antifeminazi, who first posted this picture on a recent kitty thread.

Hello Monday. Short work week for many of us. Had difficulty waking up this morning? My sister and her husband had no difficulty. They just purchased a new piano. I caution cat owners not to purchase a piano. You never know what kind of beautiful "mewsic" cats create, as shown in the attached photo. Something called a "Wake-Up Call".

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Back to work today for most people. Time for a little humor break to lighten your day. Looks like kitty is back to work too. Problem is he/she/it forget everything learned. Proof of statement is shown below, as kitty having problem using the computer.
