A haunting song from the late summer of 1979 from the "Bombs Away Dream Babies" album of John Stewart. Mostly an overlooked album but one worth finding as it features the background singing of Stevie Nicks and the guitar work of Lindsey Buckingham on some of the tracks, including the more recognized Top 10 hit "Gold." John Stewart - Midnight WindAnyway, I hope you all like it. Should have been a much bigger hit (made it to #28 in October of 1979).

Jon Stewart is best known as a comedian and former host of "The Daily Show." Virtually all talk show hosts draw from the well of politics. But Stewart's tenure took that to a new level, and he made no bones about his distinctly progressive leanings. Stewart is talented and intelligent, and his riffs on politics and political figures are funny (whether you share his political views or not). He is already a household name. But Stewart gave the monologue of his life yesterday in front of a congressional subcommittee charged with finding additional financial support for the Sept. 11 Victim...

Just two weeks after the broadcast networks mourned “cultural icon” Jon Stewart leaving The Daily Show, Friday’s NBC Today and CBS This Morning touted an online petition on the liberal Change.org website urging the Commission on Presidential Debates to select the left-wing comedian as a 2016 debate moderator. On Today, co-host Matt Lauer wondered: “Could the presidential race be in Jon Stewart's future?” Fill-in weatherperson Dylan Dryer followed: “Well, that’s the hope of a lot of people....A Change.org petition requesting Stewart moderate one of the 2016 presidential debates has been signed almost 140,000 times and that number is growing by...

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) came under fire for refusing to permit Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) to vote by proxy in the Democratic caucus. Duckworth, a double-amputee veteran of the Iraq War, is eight months pregnant and was unable to travel to Washington for the vote due to her pregnancy. Pelosi refused to allow Duckworth to vote by proxy, saying that the exception may spark a "slippery slope."The Daily Show's host Jon Stewart feels otherwise. In a segment titled "Petty Woman," Stewart skewers Pelosi for her hypocrisy of previously touting the importance of voting (including early voting), filing briefs on behalf...

Jon Stewart’s snark-fest against Fox News this week over Benghazi finally prompted a rebuttal (of sorts) from Greta Van Susteren: “Note to Jon Stewart (who I think is smart and clever …but like the rest of us, not always right…but a comedian has, of course, way more latitude – we in the media should get it right.)” This “latitude,” however, should not allow Jon Stewart to disseminate propaganda from Castro’s KGB-founded and mentored intelligence services uncontested. “I LOVE this book!” Jon Stewart gushed upon greeting author TJ English who a few years ago was publicizing his book titled "How the...

Original title: 'If four Americans get killed, it's not OPTIMAL': Obama's extraordinary response to Comedy Central question about shifting story after Benghazi attack ---------------------------- President Barack Obama, during an interview to be shown on Comedy Central, has responded to a question about his administration's confused communication after the Benghazi attack, by saying: 'If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.' Obama was speaking to Jon Stewart of The Daily Show for a programme to be broadcast tonight. Stewart, a liberal whose young audience is full of potential voters prized by the Obama campaign, asked the president about his handling of...

As usual, the intolerant left preaches tolerance and inclusion while missing the irony of their own attacks. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart exposes this very easily at the 2012 Democrat Convention.

Stewart nails Obama on his hypocrisy regarding transparency. This video is hilarious, check it out.

The guys over at Secular Stupidest went out to the John Stewart/ Stephen Colbert rally this past Saturday in Washington, D.C. and spoke with a few people in attendance to get a glimpse of why they were there. The people they captured on video are quite interesting. One man used the “n” word multiple times while another claimed Republicans in power want everyone dead. Take a look:

Precious little information has been leaked about Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear" in Washington, D.C. this Saturday -- until now. While Comedy Central continues to stay mum about the festivities, the Christian Science Monitor had the great fortune of acquiring the schedule portion of the National Park Service permit that was issued on Wednesday. If you're heading to the rally on the National Mall, you'll be treated to a performance by The Roots, assorted comedy routines, quick sets by Mavis Staple, Jeff Tweedy and Sheryl Crow and, of course, appearances and speeches by the...

In case Arianna Huffington plotting to spend an estimated quarter-million dollars on buses to the liberal Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert rally didn’t paint it as an Obama event, how about Oprah Winfrey? The Obama-endorsing, Obama-campaign-stumping Winfrey appeared via satellite on Thursday night’s episode of The Daily Show to announce that she was going to fly Stewart’s audience to Washington, D.C., for the so-called Stewart half, the “Rally to Restore Sanity." "I know that you've got this huge event coming up, and I'm really excited about it, because I think that we need a bit more sanity in the world," she said....

Everyone knows Fox isn't "the most trusted name in news," so who is? You guessed it - and at least one media tycoon agrees. Speaking at the University of Missouri as a guest-lecture, Craig Newmark - Craigslist founder and informal Obama technology-advisor - argued that Comedy Central is the most trustworthy news source. Invited to discuss the future of journalism - where individuals virtually have an endless amount of resources in today's era of new media - Newark stressed how trust and credibility was paramount, emphasizing the exemplary dedication Comedy Central shows have for investigative reporting and fact-checking. "[R]ight now...

John Stewart had his best segment ever trashing the MSM over their how some kids scooped them to find out about corruption at ACORN. No video up yet. Here are some quotes: "I'm sure Acorn has 'a line'...please tell me 13 Salvadorian sex slaves is 'the line'" "The bad news, Acorn appears to be a corrupt organization that aides and abets criminals, and gets millions of dollars in taxpayer money, the good news is, it seems to be very well run" "Which intrepid journalist broke this story, 60 minutes, AP?" "Where were the real reporters on this story. You know...

Why do people think Jon Liebowitz a.k.a. Jon Stewart is funny? He’s not funny. He’s crude and tasteless. People keep telling me how funny he is and how I should watch the “Daily Show.” Why? So I can watch him say things like this? Jon Stewart: Fox Newsers Are ‘Extremists’ Who View the World Through ‘Sh*t-Colored Glasses’ Tim Graham | June 8, 2009 - 14:14 ET Alex Leo at The Huffington Post was delighted that Jon Stewart mocked Fox News “crazypants coverage” of President Obama’s opus in Cairo. Stewart said of the speech: ”How will it play with the extremists?”...

They say that many people now get much of their news from satire. Which might make you wonder where they get their satire from. However, researchers at the Ohio State University wanted to get into the bowels of the political satire phenomenon and were perhaps a little surprised at how it is all being digested. They subjected 332 people of varying political bents to a three-minute clip of "The Colbert Report." They then produced their own report, fetchingly entitled "Political Ideology and The Motivation to See What You Want to See in the Colbert Report." The guinea pigs were flawless...

Monday, April 13, 2009 BREITBART: Jon Stewart and Kumar go to D.C. Andrew Breitbart On Tuesday night I was bestowed the honor of being ridiculed on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart. The segment in which I was featured had Mr. Stewart mocking those of us who dare criticize the new president. In the era of Obama, mainstream American political humor is now officially on the defensive. Stewart lumped me with Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Rep. Michele Bachmann, Minnesota Republican — a cross section of people you might expect to be critical of an administration implementing...

In this CNN segment, Tucker Carlson dares to notice that John Stewart went after CNBC's Jim Cramer only after Cramer criticized Comrade Obama's budget. The reaction by CNN's panel of liberals is nothing less than fury. I think Stephanie Miller must believe that if she just keeps saying Stewart is funny, it may become true.

snip Incidentally, earlier in this dust-up Stewart presented an edited clip which purported to show that Cramer was claiming Bear-Sterns was a solid investment days before it went tits-up. This is a lie. I know it's a lie because I mentioned this here when it happened, claiming the same thing. I was immediately informed by commenters that Cramer hadn't been talking about investments in Bear-Sterns being safe, but merely deposits there, which are federally insured (up to $100,000 at that time, now $250,000) and that therefore there was no reason to run on the bank and withdraw such money. When commenters...

John Stewart made clear which candidate he’s supporting Tuesday night at the Project ALS benefit at the Waldorf-Astoria. The Daily Show star responded to host Ben Stiller’s comments that he can’t choose sides due to his position on television saying, “Oh, I think it’s pretty clear. Neither of them is perfect, but if you, out of nowhere, are going to grab a woman out of the woods and make her your vice presidential candidate, what can I do?” “[Sarah Palin] is like Jodie Foster in the movie Nell, ” Stewart continued. “They just found her, and she was speaking her...
