Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a surprise commencement address to graduates from Johns Hopkins University on Thursday morning. Zelensky appeared via livestream and also received an honorary doctorate degree from the university’s president at the commencement, The Baltimore Sun reported. “One of the most common truisms on Earth is the advice to value or at least not waste time,” Zelensky said in the address, adding, “Every person eventually realizes that time is the most valuable resource on the planet, not oil or uranium, not lithium or anything else, but time.”

Johns Hopkins Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse has hired a former Old Dominion University professor who was put on leave after claiming that sexual attraction to children is not always immoral, and that he wants to destigmatize pedophiles by referring to them as “minor-attracted persons” (MAPs), instead. “We are excited to share that Allyn Walker, PhD, will be joining the Moore Center as a postdoctoral fellow on May 25,” the Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse announced on Thursday.

In a Johns Hopkins News-Letter dated November 22, 2020, “Genevieve Briand, assistant program director of the Applied Economics master’s degree program at Hopkins, critically analyzed the effect of COVID-19 on U.S. deaths using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).” She found that there was zero increase in deaths across the United States between 2018 and 2020. She determined that “the percentages of deaths among all age groups remain relatively the same.” She thus concluded that COVID-19 “has relatively no effect on deaths in the United States.” Briand was puzzled because the CDC had reported an increase...

Conspiracy universe has been triggered by Biden using the phrase: Dark Winter several times in a row. It almost didn't sound like an innocent observation. Overview The Dark Winter exercise, held at Andrews AFB, Washington, DC, June 22-23, 2001, portrayed a fictional scenario depicting a covert smallpox attack on US citizens. The scenario is set in 3 successive National Security Council (NSC) meetings (Segments 1, 2 and 3) that take place over a period of 14 days. Former senior government officials played the roles of NSC members responding to the evolving epidemic; representatives from the media were among the observers...

Hydroxychloroquine+azithromycin has been widely misrepresented in both clinical reports and public media, and outpatient trials results are not expected until September. Early outpatient illness is very different than later hospitalized florid disease and the treatments differ. Evidence about use of hydroxychloroquine alone, or of hydroxychloroquine+azithromycin in inpatients, is irrelevant concerning efficacy of the pair in early high-risk outpatient disease. Five studies, including two controlled clinical trials, have demonstrated significant major outpatient treatment efficacy. Hydroxychloroquine+azithromycin has been used as standard-of-care in more than 300,000 older adults with multicomorbidities, with estimated proportion diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmias attributable to the medications 47/100,000...

LEBANON, Ohio (WKRC) - A judge sentenced a former Springboro teacher to eight years in prison on Wednesday. Hopkins molested 28 first grade girls at Clearcreek Elementary School. His actions were caught on surveillance video. He would nuzzle and kiss the girls, along with putting his hands on their thighs and other body parts and inside of their shirts. Hopkins had told police he only gave side hugs and high fives. During his trial, prosecutors noted he didn't treat the first-grade boys the same way. His defense attorneys said he was on the autism spectrum at the time of his...

The John Hopkins Covid-19 web site has been playing fast and loose with the data! For almost a week they have made it hard to find out the number of recovered cases in the U.S. For several days, it has been listed as 0 recoveries. They used to keep a chart of Chinese cases, non-Chinese cases, and recovered cases. For the last two days, they altered the chart to show only new cases worldwide. Since the virus is blooming in more countries that is bound to go up, but it certainly looks more alarming. It is an odd coincidence that...

Before long we’ll be moving the clocks back an hour yet again (or at least most of us will), but that’s not what this story is about. There’s a new proposal that doesn’t seek to eliminate Daylight Savings Time but instead would eliminate time zones all across the United States and the rest of the world as well. And it comes to us from no less of an august source than Johns Hopkins. Now that I’ve picked my jaw up off the floor, let’s see what this is all about. Here are two of their professors discussing the idea on...

Dr. Ben Carson on Friday apologized to Johns Hopkins University for “poorly chosen” comments he made last week in which he seemed to compare gay relationships to pedophilia and bestiality. The pediatric neurosurgeon’s message to the Hopkins community came after a top university official issued a statement calling Carson’s words “offensive” and saying he would meet with students who want Carson removed as commencement speaker.

"The genetic sequence is essentially fixed for life, but we believe epigenetic marks are more subject to change," says Feinberg. "The IHF collaboration will let us really test the stability of epigenetics and the passage of those marks from parents to child, perhaps even over successive generations." At the heart of the center's work is epigenetics' importance in proper cell function and in development. One example of epigenetics is "imprinted" genes--genes whose activity is determined not by the regular dominant and recessive rules of Mendel's genetics, but solely by which parent provided the gene copy. For example, for some...

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Doctors who conducted a series of tests on 10-year-old conjoined Indian twins said on Tuesday they believed it was possible to surgically separate the girls who were born fused at the head. Saba and Farah Shakeel, a roadside food stall owner's daughters, have been through a battery of tests at Apollo Hospital in the capital. Doctors say the separation surgery will be complicated because the girls share a major blood drainage vessel in the brain. Another big challenge is that only one girl has both kidneys, while the other has none. "We believe we can separate...
