The Dutch government has ordered an inquiry into the terrorist threat aimed explicitly at the Netherlands which has been circulating on the internet since Sunday. The website of a group calling itself the Islamic Tawhid says the Netherlands will be targeted if Dutch troops are not withdrawn from Iraq. The Dutch secret service, the AIVD, says there is no reason to revise its risk assessment. It is generally accepted that countries with troops in Iraq, such as the Netherlands, face greater risks. Last month the Dutch Interior Ministry introduced a number of additional security measures for potential terrorist targets.
