The House select committee investigating last year’s Capitol riot has asked Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) to provide more information about a tour that he gave one day prior to the violence. In a letter to Loudermilk, committee chair Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) and vice chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) claimed that a review of security footage “directly contradicts” Republican claims that there were “no tours” or “large groups” of people at the Capitol in the days before Jan. 6, 2021.

(CNN)The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating a recent Covid-19 outbreak on a Carnival cruise ship that docked in Seattle after a two-week voyage. The Carnival Spirit, which sailed through the Panama Canal, departed Miami on April 17 and arrived in Seattle on May 3, according to a statement from the cruise line. The ship holds 2,124 guests and 930 crew members, Carnival said. The CDC says it's not permitted to publicly share the number of passengers and crew members who quarantined or tested positive. House Republicans have launched an investigation into Twitter and Facebook after new reports surfaced about Hunter Biden’s laptop. In letters posted on Twitter, 10 Republicans, led by Rep. The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating SpaceX over whether the company discriminates against non-U.S. citizens in its hiring practices and said Elon Musk’s company is stonewalling a subpoena for information, court documents revealed Thursday. The DOJ’s Immigrant and Employee Rights Section received a complaint of employment discrimination from a non-U.S. citizen claiming that the company discriminated against him based on his citizenship status.

The last time the National Transportation Safety Board came down hard on engineering and construction was in 2007. That year, the board delivered reports on the collapse of the I-35 Highway Bridge in Minneapolis that killed 13 people, and on a ceiling collapse in a Boston Central Artery tunnel that killed one motorist. Both involved completed structures. With its final investigation findings, the board also made recommendations for new standards and procedures and quality control. Lt. Mike Sadauskis said officers were called to the pavilion area of Mayo Park about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after a 28-year-old Rochester man had been tackled by up to six other men.
