-- On Sunday, Sam and Jan Phillips of Fort Smith will pack into their olive-green Hummer and embark on a nearly 1,000-mile, three-day trip to the nation's capital for President Bush's inauguration. Driven by a deep admiration for the president, the Phillipses began planning their visit the day after Bush was re-elected. "We're just normal people going to something we consider to be special and historic," said Jan Phillips, a homemaker. "I just thought it was the chance of a lifetime to do this."

In two weeks, Freepers will begin arriving in the Nation's Capital to celebrate President Bush's 2nd Inaugural. Not only will Freepers be attending the Swearing-In ceremony and the Inaugural parade, a number of Freepers from across the country and/or their children will be marching in the parade. But when the parade ends, that's definitely not the end of this historic day for Freepers; there's still the Free Republic W2 Inaugural Ball to look forward to!
