In two weeks, Freepers will begin arriving in the Nation's Capital to celebrate President Bush's 2nd Inaugural. Not only will Freepers be attending the Swearing-In ceremony and the Inaugural parade, a number of Freepers from across the country and/or their children will be marching in the parade.
But when the parade ends, that's definitely not the end of this historic day for Freepers; there's still the Free Republic W2 Inaugural Ball to look forward to!
If you haven't already purchased your tickets for the W2 Ball, make haste! The media has taken notice that the Freepers are coming to town to celebrate, and they remember that our first ball was the surprise hit of the 2001 inaugural scene. The Washingtonian Magazine has already written a piece about Governor Huckabee and our W2 Inaugural Ball; other media outlets are sure to follow suit.
Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and the Capitol Offense Band will be back again this year, to help Freepers remind the world that conservatives know how to party.
The W2 Ball team has been hard at work, planning this all-inclusive event to be a night to remember for attendees - filled with fun, food and friends (and maybe a few surprises, too).
Now, for a short visual tour of our host hotel, The Washington Plaza...
This is The Washington Plaza's lobby - before it fills with Freepers...
We will basically have the hotel as ours for the evening; having both of the hotel's ballrooms for our party, one set up with banquet tables for dining and "quieter" visiting with our long distance friends, and across the wide foyer from that ballroom is the larger ballroom which will have our stage, band and dance floor. Also, we have a room adjacent to the ballrooms, our "children's room," for parents who are bringing their children. The kids will have their own menu for dinner, parents will work it out among themselves how to split the babysitting schedule. :-)
For smokers, the spacious hotel bar is just off the lobby, and has plenty of seating areas for groups of Freepers to relax and smoke - indoors!
And finally - here's the dinner menu:
I forgot to mention that in addition to this full buffet dinner, live band and dancing, your admission to the W2 Ball also gives you free access to the gourmet coffee and tea stations, and open bar ("last call" at 11:30pm).
Oh Oh ... any chance of having a Live Thread that night??
Oh, how cool would it be to have a computer set up in a corner of the ballroom with a live thread up, that people could come by and post!!!
Well here's to hoping the can do that .. it would be neat
I want the room with the red-X!
The excitement builds!
still bumping for "Full Details" about Wednesday Night Dinner ;^)...rto
If the weather stays warm we can have an after hours pool party!
bttt
....Ladies may wish to know that the hotel does not have a beauty salon...
Please don't encourage them. If they get any better looking I might not be able to stand it.

So I'm wondering where we will stand during the swearing in ceremony? Anyone know yet? Is it a special area?
Have a great time FReepers! Wish we could be there!
RushCrush & Juggernaut (we got engaged on NY EVE!)
Is there any way of getting a paper copy of that invitation and menu? I'd pay! We can't be there because of our baby (and his numerous brothers and sisters), but would love to have a memento of the great time our FRiends had.
Yay, another freeper marriage!
sauropod and I just had our six-month anniversary.
Looks great, can't wait.
Will there be a rallying point where Freepers can meet before the swearing in?
The best way to enjoy the swearing in has GOT to be with other Freepers!
Our son is really looking forward to this!!!
Thanks!
