Here's the latest -- we dare not say the last -- word on iLoo, the Internet-equipped portable toilet from Microsoft Corp. For nearly two weeks, the online outhouse was treated by many media organizations as a genuine product idea. Then, for about 12 hours beginning late Monday night, it was reported to be a hoax, based on statements from three Microsoft employees. And now, Microsoft says the contraption is for real. But it won't be produced. It's been canceled.Confused? So is Microsoft, say experts."If they can't tell you what's factual and what's not, it's a sign of how big a corporation Microsoft...

Seattle, Washington - Microsoft admitted on Tuesday last week's unveiling of a toilet with high-speed Internet access was a hoax concocted by its British division. The fake introduction of the iLoo on April 30, complete with technical drawings, got widespread play from news media around the world as Microsoft insisted it was no joke. It was. "This iLoo release came out of the (British) office and was not a Microsoft-sanctioned communication, and we apologise for any confusion or offence it may have caused," Microsoft spokesperson Bridgitt Arnold said.
