British screenwriter and director Jimmy Sangster, a key creative force behind so many of the great Hammer Horror Films, has died.

'Actress Ingrid Pitt, who became famous for playing voluptuous vampires in the Hammer Horror films of the 1970s, has died aged 73. She collapsed in London last week while on her way to an event hosted by members of her fan club, her daughter said. The Polish-born star began her career on the stage in East Germany before coming to Britain.
